Is anyone heading down to Longbridge today?

Thought I'd go down as I went in 2005/06 and not been since. Expecting to see lots of old shite on the way!

Looks like it's just me then and a few brummies., Shame cos there's a good selection of shite on display and no rain yet!

Maestro is F.I.T.T on the mg wheels.

Yup for sale too £3500 I think. There was a 216 GTI in dark green I was more interested and naturally forgot to take a photo. That was £4k but was immaculate.

It makes me a bit nostalgic about the old rover/ MG and X power stuff I grew up is. Great looking cars, colours and sounds. All of which were ancient cars with new bits/stickers and chavy body kits on but it seemed to work and they were everywhere

They managed a lot with what was left in the cupboard on that one. But they look just right.

Well jell tbh. Longbridge is obviously a fair drag there and back from Burnley but I feel I need to make the effort next year. Looks bloody brilliant. We were a bit of a GM family growing up (apart from the Gilberns and Vitesses) but I'm an unfortunate BLARG fan at heart.

I hope you enjoyed it @motorpunk as much as I did.

Definitely worth getting down at least once @Matty. I gave up going to shows a long time ago. Mainly as the ones I was doing  don't allow dogs but also because of the gatekeeping attitude many have towards others/new members.

Although I've only been twice, this one has a total cross section of society from your flat cap giffer and his rover 75 to the baseball cap wearing council estate yobbo with his ZR. Inclusive, friendly and unpretentious as it should be imo. That said, I'd rather starve to death than pay £8 for a pasty 😂

I'll definatly give it a do. I'd like to come down in mine for a photo at the gates. On the other hand I'm not sure i could be arsed with 2 hours on the M6 with it revving it's nuts off at 70. So maybe the van 🤔

One year I’ll head to this. Haven’t got a suitable fleet member presently… but I’ve always fancied going along

216 GTI would be the Honda Twin Cam wouldn't it?

Mighty tempting if clean enough!

I’ll be honest, despite owning an MGR product and living in Birmingham, I’ve never actually been.

Yeah, but the pasty van was towed by a very nice Range Rover with appropriate private plate.

I attended this today, first time in at least a decade. I was surprised by the large turnout. I got completely lost in the new housing and retail park before finding Cofton Park. Some lovely cars there.

There was a great quote by one of the organisers. The portaloos arrived after 12, the organiser said to the delivery firm 'you're taking the piss arriving this late' without irony but with some annoyance.

Nice is an understatement, the V8S is great. I thought that pornographic pictures were banned?

I was in the presence of a 3500 manual (non vitesse) last Sunday. A car that photos don't do justice to.

Yup! It’s a fascinating area. This was was empty but the rest were thankfully in lovely shape
