Just worked out that since landing in Chicago, we have driven the same distance in America as from my house in the Midlands to Smolensk, Russia. And we are not yet halfway. Tomorrow should see us at our target for the trip, my bucket list thing.

Incredibly, incredibly well put. My friends were gobsmacked when I told them my old local pub (that took some explaining in and of itself) had been a pub since the 15th Century. Nothing wrong with it at all, just really interesting to see.

5.30am, can’t sleep. Murder motel was making murderous noises last night and the Police sirens woke me up.

Good coffee is absolutely impossible to find. Food we brought is ruined as it’s been in the boot which got crazy hot for some reason.

Probably that. And non-stop driving at speeds of very many MPHs. Car is doing 17MPG overall. Fortunately it only costs about £50 to fill the tank. More than one person has asked what language we are speaking. That’ll be English.
