TR7 Sprint. It just seems so right to of made this.

BMW E30 Estate 3 door. Lancia HPE for the 1990's.

Ford Granada V8. Plenty of room in under the bonnet. Other markets got it.

Opel Monza drop top. Think of it as a Lidl economy Bitter.

Any more???

Factory XJ6 estates, especially since they would have not made a pigs ear of it like many subsequent coachbuilders did!

Triumph TR4(/A) GTsRover V8 powered Stag, doingaway with the weird set up it ended up with.

I'm sure I;ll think of more as soon as I've clicked submit,

I remember reading 'they' (GM) were going to make a Nova GT, which was the 1.7TD Isuzu engine.

7 Seat Citroen Berlingo Multispazz.

The world needs more sit up and beg 7 seat chicken coops on wheels.

Austin Metro Saloon ( to compete with Nova saloon)

I would drive that, in public, with a beaming smile on my face.

The Rover 800 Coupe in mk1 form would have been this:

This was an early prototype of the BMC Landcrab (pic courtesy of AR Online). If they had released it in 2001 then they would have totally stolen BMW's thunder with the 'new' 'Mini':

South America got the Corsa B Saloon... but not us.................... Thank fuck.

Range Rover V8 Perkins "Iceberg" would have been nice.

I don't know why Renault didn't put the Fiftie into production. Surely with the success of the Bini, Beetle and Fiat 500 there would be some willing buyers for a 'new 4CV'? Or at least more than there were for the Avantime and Vel Satis.

I always wish that the UK manufacturers had made more 2 door versions of medium size saloons in the 50's 60's. There are very few, Sunbeam Rapier being a coupe version of the series Minx for example. Ford also managed with the Mk1 and 2 Cortina, and the Classic. Can't think of a single BMC though.

1100/1300 ADO16?

Also, Vauxhall Viva.

Bit small Mr Racer. Think Seth's more on about two-door Farinas, Landcrabs (oooh, imagine a Landcrab coupe!) and the like. Mind you, I don't like two doors as they tend to be mahoosive and a pain in the arse in car parks.

Capri Convertible, would have been the perfect car for it. Maybe not shite, but I don't understand wh they didn't make this lovely little thing:

You could buy the Mk 2 MX5 coupe in Japan couldn't you?

Anyway, I think they should have made a Peugeot 405 Mi16 estate. If I don't lose my marbles completely I might do one myself.

Surely the ultimate 405 they never made is the 2.1TD. GR1.2 for engine bay access.

Doesn't count, 'cos they did make them, only 20, but they made 'em alright:

TR7 Sprint info here.

I can't do photoshop, but if someone could imagineer a Renault 12 2-door convertible, that would be gr999.

That would look DEMENTED.

Dacia got quite close, didn't they?

Anyhoo, I'll add a Citroen Visa convertible, but with the 652cc twin pot engine- a kind of 2CV replacement, but not quite. It would have been a proper pov-spec base model with vinyl upholstery that superheats in the summer sun.

Peugeot 305 GTX 1.9 Turbo diesel.

Citroen DS with the SM engine. (at least one bloke now has)

How about Pininfarina's MGB replacement?

Posted Image

Very similar timing! This was 1964 - Duetto appeared in 1966. Pininfarina really was the king of pimping around exactly the same style! As Austin, Fiat and Peugeot know all too well...
