OSS is the panoramic roof

‘Open Sky System’ or some Audi marketing bollocks like that.

To update now back home and having slept.

Picked this up in Reading from Wingz123  of this parish,  you'll remember him mostly for car moving around stuff.

Nice to see him again, been a few years, top seller,

me too

Me three. There's a very nice one fifteen minutes away and I might go look at it. Only downside is it's pez rather than the proper mingebag TDi.

They’re an interesting car, equal parts genius and frustrating I found. Can vouch for the A2oc being brilliant. Lots of obsessive (in a helpful way) expertise, and it’s vibrant too so questions get answered in minutes/hours rather than days.
There’s a ready supply of parts & upgrades from a few members who part out dead A2s. One of them  called Ami in Horsham was brilliant in helping turn our one from a bit of a basket case to a fairly decent example, recommend contacting him if you have an A2 and are in the SE. .

Id recommend checking those front suspension arms though, they are a known weak spot as someone on here recently found out

Found you! Nicely bought. The alloys are unusual, as is the colour - which I’m going to hazard a guess is either LZ3Q Merlot Red Pearl or more likely LZ3M Misano Red as the latter is particularly prone to lacquer peel. The smooth bonnet / service flap would suggest it’s an earlier car (pre 2004) and therefore it won’t have the rust-prone lower front suspension arms mentioned above, which is a bonus.

What are your plans for it? Is it a fixer-upper or winter beater? Any faults needing addressing?

Theres a chap up north on A2OC that refurbishes the sunroofs with upgraded parts so they stay working - if the lack of fresh air bothers you . It used to be a guy more handily located in Staines but he handed over the baton.

What’s the wiper arm condition like? You’ve had these before so you may know that if the joints are allowed to wear too much the arm starts to scratch the screen - which from the pic looks like this one has suffered from - correct? Again, A2OC has a guy that refurbishes them and the screen can be polished if not too deeply scratched.

So how are you liking it (or otherwise) now that it's on the road? :-)

I just filled mine up yesterday and calculated just over 69mpg over the tank average - and that was with my wife driving it for half the time. Happy with that!

I brimmed it at home Last night, and did 200 miles this morning, I'll fill it up tonight see what I got coming up

Have you found the burp toggle on the right of the filler neck that you can use the pump nozzle to push open in order to gently fill the expansion chamber - which is not needed on diesels - after the “main” tank is full? This gives another few litres capacity which is useful on such a small tank (and yours will have the smaller capacity tank being an earlier car).

You should get minimum 500 miles out of a tank then.

Also be aware that when the low fuel light comes on you actually have well over 100 miles range left!
