Was your Carlton a CDX? What engine? I've got a 2.6 auto and it's great!

 

I still don't really understand why people bother blanking out their number plates though, especially on cars they don't have any more!

Hey I used to own that silver F-reg senator as well!!!! What about that. I got it off eBay then that 'Prestige Vauxhall' gaffer in the north east bought it off me, would have been in Summer 2003.

The 343500 mile dash is from the burgandy Senator you can see being stripped in the back alley pics Trigger, I think I gt it up to 345-ish before the tax ran out & it was bodily too rust to bother with at the time.

 

The 130mph shot is in a Carlton B estate, it was 1 of 27 3.0 CDX manuals built for police evaluation Gary (according to the historian at Vauxhall), I had it over 150mph several times & had a theoretical top speed of 163.... all for £150 with MOT & tax (& loads & loads of rust!), I sold it to a guy up north who came down with an old car trailer towed by a Senator, but it hasnt been taxed for several years (was very rusty indeed & when we put it on the trailer we realised the fuel pump, usually bolted to the boot floor was actually being held up by the petrol pipes & wires!)

 

I`ve always tried to blank my plates online to avoid cloning (although I missed a few here!), its a rapidly increasing crime that I dont want to be involved in at all.

 

As an example, thief/dodgy banger racer see`s a burgandy Jag sitting in someones back alley in Luton, he goes on the net, see`s mine, orders a pair of plates from ebay, then goes back & nicks it, immediately putting my plates on it before putting it on a trailer... he gets pulled over & says he`s just bought it from a bloke in London with no V5c, that checks out so the police let him go on his way... I know it sounds far fetched, but it happens.

Your joking! You owned "fukra" as well? I got it from a bloke in... Leicester off ebay... um... not sure... 2004 maybe? I`ll have a look for the ebay recept in a bit... I didnt have it for long, not sure why as I dont recall anything being wrong with it... I did have a bit of a car overload at the time though... I dont even remember how I sold it or who to...

 

Its still around though, its currently SORN`d!
