Ym Mangor as it is said with the Welsh mutation. I'm no expert on Welsh mutations but I like this one and it has stuck in my head

3 or 4 trains and a bus to catch. First train delayed by 10 minutes. Not a great start.

I don't travel on public transport often. Partly because it is quite unreliable and partly because I don't fit in the seats.

The joys of being exceedingly tall!

I fear the thread title is misleading. Not a Virgin train sighted so far.

Any poo's so far?

0, I'm gonna need a crowbar to get out of this seat. Body knows something is up and this is not a normal day, gone into shutdown mode.

Ask how much for a first class upgrade. Been a few years but was only a £10 for me last time on that trip.
Drinks/Nibbles and free wifi more than covered the cost

Which Bond film is that?

Side thread: Shitey Bond vehicles. I'm excited to see a Sherpa featured. Rennow 11 memorably, MK4 Mondeo, 2CV. Some awful Murigan wank (AMC?) in that silly one with the corkscrew jump. Defender. Shirley some Ladas or ZAZ somewhere?

Was there ever a Mini in Bond? It was used to great effect by Mr Bourne.

Would assume so if going from Birmingham Central.
Also dont forget the train crossing where its the train that sounds the horn as no barriers that I can remember.

Dunno tbh. Train to Okehampton then bus to Tavistock.

It's a bit grim outside, misty and wet. Considering a large part of my job is measuring rainfall I shouldn't really be surprised that the weather is different in different parts of the UK. Hence I forgot to bring my coat.

Dont recall a Mini, but he did get a lift in a Green Ford Ka in Quantum of Solace , and an old bug.

Trying to decide whether to go back through Wales, skirt the border or take M6. I think I'll just see how I feel, it's not going to be quick.

M5/M6/M54 is the easy option, but I’d be tempted to go off at Worcester, A449 to Kidderminster and onwards to Bridgnorth and Shrewsbury, then pick up the A5.

Go Wales. Nicer spots to break down. The Crediton to Tiverton Rd is a nice cut through avoiding some M5 too.

My folks are near Okehampton, they're shit with the spanners though good for a cuppa. Actually they're in Cornwall this week though sure HMC will see you good.

Going through Wales feels a bit like cheating because another large part of my job involves driving around it so I know those roads well. Probably be the most relaxing. We'll see.

I feel like one of them had a Mini Moke featured. Maybe Live and Let Die?

A perfectly good film stunt utterly spoiled by some foley tosser adding a swanny whistle.

He got a lift in a Zaz of some kind in Goldeneye. Again spoiled by ridiculousness, it was "started" by the character walloping the cooling duct with a sledge hammer.

I had the misfortune to watch Die Another Day recently.

Worst. Bond. Ever.

Scaramanga drove an AMC Matador and Bond stole an AMC Hornet X in The Man with the Golden Gun. How are they awful? They're awesome cars! Particularly the Hornet
