I'd like to play the 'I understood a tooSavvy post' card, but that works on the assumption that AVAS is referring to a Vauxhall, and isn't a new acronym that Savvy has devised to fool us.

Just left a message on the Vmx @North Tyneside Council 'parking control' because the parkies use a PDA, with all the Resident permit holder reg numbers on..... If they don't have my NEW number I'll likely get a ticket.

Unlocked knob/untethered & no latch on flap = nil security. I lost SuziQ filler cap because 'forgot' 😕...

I like them, but the one we had was shit (numerous EGR and DPF faults).
Beware these like to spontaneously human AVAS combust and were featured in the 2009 Randles & Hough Book (Fontana Press)

Assuming you're talking about that Astra ( I really don't know), the flap is locked when the car is locked and unlocked when the car is unlocked. It's part of the central locking.

Doesn't look to have any barbs or notches/cutouts (unless it's 'hidden' in the hinge) 🔧⚙️

#Tested... In pub carpark = NO locked flap/car plip locked OK 😕

I had an 05 plate one and it certainly had central locking on the flap. Also earlier Vauxhalls that I had

My missus poured a boiling kettle over one of my old Cavs then got the lad from the petrol station to pry it open before realising she'd locked the car when she got out 🙄

Plenty of forward vision, clear straight = No Tractor...

My 9k Auto was a bit learry, mindful of Pain@Pump 😕. Nice to have a 'bit 'o boot' again.

MUST pay attention in town >> it's a creeper = you don't know it's doing 40 😯

I definitely hit the 'look back into the carpark & smile' spot >> estate shape [black glass] is epic ♥️👍

Having consulted eBay and not found 'quite' what I wanted [@£14.99!!] I opted for the cheap/but OK option.

Got a fairly substantial wodge of 'back MOTs + Parts bills'....

Air Con was overhauled/regassed July 2018

.... Sadly, Mr Punter got a  **Cam Belt Roulette** flag from his regular MOT/Servicing Garage >> Dec 2019 = job not shown in any invoice 😲🔧😵‍💫

The belt off MrGetz (original 17yr @62k) was like reading barcode....

Think time to get my greasy spanner on the phone.... ✔️

No paranoia here.... however, genuine horror stories of rad/auto fluid leak failures 😵‍💫

 

An hour or two lying under the front end might be a valuable investment.. 🤔

See when they are free to do the work.

..... Also ask about fitting a 'dry' tranny cooler, nipping off the pipes into the rad 👍

Bit confused..you’re replacing a known failure point with a used part? Literally seems a pointless endeavour given your current one probably is a similar age.  You’d be better off buying a new one if you’re worried and fitting it, else you’re just at the same starting point again.

Agreed, instead of pissing about with spoilers (on an Zafira??) you could have put the cash towards a new oil cooler.
