I rarely post on there anymore, I got fed up filtering through pages and pages of arse kissing and bollocks.

 

Also got fed up about reading about how some clueless 17 year gets a mint original 25 + y/o car then chops all the springs out of it, plasters it in stickers, Listen to everyone say how great it looks, Then read about it got put in a ditch and ended up getting scrapped.

Agreed. I think I signed up ages ago to post on the FB Victor restoration thread congratulating the guy on his work, but haven't posted since then. I only look at it very occasionally, mainly for the FB rebuild, Hino housetruck build and the XBOLX tat blog.

I enjoy Retro Rides because I like older cars whether standard minters, modified, shabby budget runabouts, supercars or povo specials. RR members seem to span all of the above and more and provide a huge wealth of knowledge, experience and inspiration. True that a majority of posts I never read, let alone reply to, but with so many different members with different ideas its not suprising that a large portion does not interest me.

 

Its also true that the mods are annoyingly eager to lock any post that vaguely appears to fall foul of the rules, and so its not the sort of forum that you can dick about or have a laugh. But you cant have everything
