Good job they used the red hot Viva, with it's ripsnorting 1256cc engine then.

Beaten to it by the equally fast off the mark Wibble.

Well bugger me, so it is! They should have used a Marina, obviously….🤪

And I should learn to look at idle internet wibble properly!

HB would be 1156, but I believe these were 2.0 slant 4 ohc.

My Mum’s HC estate was 1256, as was her Chevette that followed.

That was the Magnum, shirley? Most HC's were 1256 IIRC.

HB's & early HC's had an 1156 (HA's 1053), HB's had the 1600 & 2000 slant 4 ( same as the FD victor & early HC/CF's).

HC viva SL was avl with 1256/1800/2000 while GLS was available with the 1256/1800/2300.

Firenza 1256/2300

Magnum 1800/2300

Droopsnoot 2300 TC 5speed, sportshatch 2300 SC 4 speed.

Chevette 1256 , HS/HSR 2300 TC 5 speed.

HA vans mirrored the cars ohv .

Mate has had loads over the years Inc 2.0efi pinto powered HC EST through the 00's as a daily (we built & a BOB engined Firenza they needed decent engines in them)

His HA telecom van has won best in class the last two years at the AGM ( which for some reason he's highly embarrassed by?????).

Only the two on the LHS of the vehicle will be fighting the fire. The two on the RHS , will just pray.

How about this - gifted to Cleveland County Fire Brigade by a German brigade. "Er. Thanks?"

'Emergency Traumatological and Obstetric-Gynecological Care' ambulances on UAZ-452 and RAF-2203 chassis,  Dmitrovsky Polygon, Moscow Oblast, 1982.
The conversions were made by Tamro, a Finnish company based in Helsinki.

Here's a couple more, including a GAZ-24. Note the Tamro logo on the door and the Finnish reg plate overlaying the Soviet one. The RAF has Hella auxillary lights.

Is that the one they'd send round to make sure you were having a fire and not lying to the authorities so you'd get extra water or something?

It's not really an emergency, and not really shite, but here's an Ikarus 601 based mobile X-Ray unit from the Estonian SSR.

I was following one of our local police cars this morning, 2006 Chevy Impala.

That's pretty good going, they were once everywhere, civilian and police, but are a much more rare sight these days.
