With modern engines and EFi being what they are, so long as there's no obvious mechanical problems I'd guess most of them actually.

Anyone care to guess how many of the original 130 horses remain in the stable?

Two for the price of one?

I guess it depends really, I Still Have Faith In You that you will get the amount of horses needed. I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do.

But at the end of the day it’s no big loss if it loses horses. The Winner Takes It All.

Thats The Name Of The Game.

128.5 remaining! Just one and a half brummie donkeys have gone to the cat food factory. That’s bloody amazing! It has renewed my faith in this stuuuuupid project.

Plus - transport to Southampton now booked. Feeling good 😎

Transport company a bit flakey, but hoping to shift it soon. Meanwhile, here’s an example of why I love racing in Lemons;

Twat transporter on Shipley… can I delay a few days, he asks, sure, say I. Then silent comms. Then finally can’t do the job due to unreasonable collection time… I’d said between 9-5, wanker.

My brother had a rover 416 with the reg R179JJE, must have been registered around the same time possibly at the same dealers.

Nice! Dealers name is mentioned in the plate, I forget now, somewhere in Brum.

Sadly he wrote it off and then bought a Volvo S40 to replace it which ended really badly :-(

The Rover isn’t stupid, it knows Milton Keynes is a place to be avoided.

It’s in Southampton now. The ungrateful bastard decided that it’s fully charged battery wasn’t fully charged enough to start it when we unloaded it, but it’s close enough to be pushed onto the boat from there.

Dropped it off this morning. Left it with Ferraris, classic Alfas and a Mustang, all being exported to ‘merica. Gave a man the keys and then hung around like an overly protective parent on their kids first day at Kindergarten. Then I watched through the fence at a distance as some horribly insensitive person pointed and laughed at it. Another man came over and sat in it. I hope they’re gentle with it. It’ll next be in my safe hands in October, my flight is booked.

In fairness, that 'shopping list' decal did make me titter a bit. Maybe they were similarly tickled?

But mega congrats on getting this far, despite everything! Eagerly awaiting October and Days/Hours/Minutes of Thunder (delete as applicable).

And hey: when it comes to writeup, it ain't adversity, it's copy...

News! After a trip to Dieppe and Hamburg, the Al Safat container ship is now America-bound. Slims AirTag still says it was last seen on the quayside in Southampton a few weeks ago but I’m guessing the shipping company would have told us if it hadn’t been loaded and sent.

The Al Safat once ploughed into a fishing boat and drowned 35 Egyptians, apparently, you can shoehorn in your own crude racist joke about that here as it soon navigates the English Channel very shortly.

Great. Car wasn’t on Al Safat. It was on another hulk which apparently doesn’t land in the colonies until late August. We are going to be incredibly short of time to finish the build, considering that there’s only one team member within 1000 miles of where the car will dock. Anyone fancy some hardcore spannering in Boston(ish) USA in September or early October? Please?

At this rate, with everything that hasn’t gone to plan, you’ll probably end up winning the thing.

I’m on my way immediately with a full toolkit and comprehensive set of spares, I love welding, can be trusted to rebuilt complex mechanical drivetrain parts in the dark while rednecks gawp, and am a generous lover with very deep pockets.

Ahem.

That’s just what we need. Thanks m9.

While I'm sat here at work winding the time down, wishing my Land Cruiser could be bought (ahem myself), I took the liberty of looking at the price of flights to Boston from the UK.

Depressingly this was the date I was looking at flying to Dublin from Birmingham, and it's still cheaper for me to fly to Boston return than it is for the 3 of us to fly to Dublin!

You can get a return flight to Boston for under £200 with Play Airline if you don’t mind sub-Ryanair service and a detour via Iceland. Super fit cabin crew, mind…

Just found out there was a Rover fragrance launched with the 600. I’d love to get my hands on some of this mystical man stench.
