Just about to head off the Edinburgh and then on to Morpeth to meet my new wheels!

Cup of tea #2, PC = 1 but likely to increase before I leave the house. Wish me luck.

Watching with interest!

For the car content, not the poo reporting obviously.

First leg of the journey by Skoda Octavia. I think rain could be a factor on the drive home if not the train down. Weather forecast is constant pissing all the way from Glasgow.

Final PC was 2 and a half, I hate using loos on trains.

Well there would only be room for one more in the car, it's has less than half the seating capacity of what I'm used to. (Slight clue here)

I'll stick up a pic now because the way the weather is it'll be dark when I get there. I know these are pretty popular on here, has this one ever been part of the shite collective?

That looks nice. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like you'll get much chance to get the top down. Bit damp and blowy out there.

Aye it was absolutely tipping it down all the way up the M74.

It's a cracker though, drives beautifully and everything works from what I can tell although the Mercedes CD player doesn't like home made CDR discs so I had to suffer Radio 2 on the way home until I could simply take no more and listened to the tyres instead.

Here's a few more pics from the eBay ad. They flatter it a wee bit, there's a bit of laquer peel on the bonnet but it seems OK bar that.

It was such a crap day weather wise I didn't take any pics myself, apart from this one shot taken at Abingdon Services. I had hoped my bladder would last all the way from Cramlington to Glasgow but I'm not a young man anymore...

Nice!! SLKs had always been like background noise to me, I never much liked Mercs, but more recently (since I had an E Class for a bit) I’m liking them more and more!

I loved mine, such an interesting car. Not enough seats for me though and it just ended up sat in my garage.

Enjoy!

I would love a CLK convertible. I would worry about rust though. Cars of the era I could afford tend to be a smorgasbord for the tin worm. Anyway, won't happen. I have enough cars as it is.

Quite a bit different from a Saab 9-5 Aero that's for sure. For one thing when I got home I discovered I can park again! 😛

I have the same stereo in my C180. I have just ordered but not fitted a jumper harnesses that has an aux in and a Bluetooth module that's supposed to work on the 6 disc changer input.

I've got a couple of newer ones I could fit including a fancy Pioneer Bluetooth/USB  thing that already has a tiny 64Gb drive in it, I might ft that eventually. It won't look as god as the proper Mercedes unit and it's not as if I've not got hundreds of CDs to use, I just like making 'mix tapes' of various stuff for the car.

if you are planning on swapping head units those MB CDs are not standard size (slightly bigger) so you need an adapter
