Pete-M Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Decided to google the name on the docs for the Rover tweakage. It turns out to have been modified for this chap; 1970 World Cup Rally, car number 1, first person nicked for speeding on the event. His name is Bobby Buchanan-Michaelson and he appears to have owned some properly mental toys. I'm impressed.
Cheggers Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 You should keep that to yourself, or you'll open the garage one day to find it's been Grade 2 listed and had a blue plaque nailed to the roof Sounds like you've bagged yourself seriously interesting motor there.
shite_meister Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Quick get it advertised in Classic & Sportscar for mega bucks and waffle on about its pedigree-them toffs love that provinance/interesting owner shit.I expect that was really as close as you'd get to a poor-man's Aston 'back in the day' and more practical with it, classic British V8 muscle.
Mr Lobster Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Interesting. Its obviously had lots of money thrown at it at some point and had a pretty interesting history. And it sounds fantastic coming up the levels at Q Park Can you still get a print of all the old V5 docs from DVLA these days? Might be interesting to see.
Pete-M Posted April 21, 2010 Author Posted April 21, 2010 Heh, the chap in question appears to be mega, mega, mega coined judging from what a quick bit of googlage turned up.It's not going in C&SC, or anywhere for sale for quite some time yet (if I ever do decide to flog it)His name was on the V5 as the previous owner, but now it's the previous owner bar one, which is a bit of a shame.Talking of the Q park, aren't we meant to be doing something like that this weekend?
