sierraman Posted April 26 Posted April 26 A bit of a heads up for anyone considering buying any 5w20 for the wet belt jobs. Conversation with a bloke that does them day in day out yesterday reckoned that although you can get the same spec on other brands there was something in the Castrol that kept the belt supple, any other brand seemed to cause the degradation issues. rainagain 1
EyesWeldedShut Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Sulking as I just bought 2 lots of ATF earlier in the week. Here's all the Mannol https://www.ebay.co.uk/e/coupon-offers/generic-20/car-parts-accessories/6030?_kwdomcat=6030&_bkw=mannol And everything car related https://www.ebay.co.uk/e/coupon-offers/generic-20/car-parts-accessories/6030
robt100 Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Still waiting for mine to turn up, coming up to 3 weeks😬 tooSavvy 1

Today it's cheap again - 20 litres 5W30 is £35.99 after a 10% discount 5 litres is < £15
beko1987 Posted May 12 Posted May 12 2x 5l bottles for £22 too, which is nicer for people like me who can't store big drums 😢 Would need a 1l buying for the 2nd change for us 5.5l people, but seems decent
Bradders59 Posted May 12 Posted May 12 I bought 5 litres of Mannol 10/40 semi synth for my Omega from them a couple of days ago for £11.43. Proper bargain.

r.welfare Posted May 12 Posted May 12 I had that, in the end I raised an ‘item not received’ query on eBay with a brief sentence asking if there was a problem (but also that I wanted the oil), instead I got an instant refund so I suspect they can’t get the supply to match the demand at times. Certainly their recent eBay feedback seems to bear this out.
RoverFolkUs Posted May 12 Author Posted May 12 Very hit and miss service from them recently but I've always eventually received what I ordered. Sometimes if ordering 4 then they might send 2 and the remaining 2 have only arrived after I send a message chasing it up Given the saving it's ok for us waiting a little while as we're only stocking up the inventory. beko1987 1
EyesWeldedShut Posted May 12 Posted May 12 I had a big delay on some DOT4 I bought from them around February but, otherwise, within a week. Worst people I've dealt with recently are CarPartsInMotion - it's taking them a week plus to get the stuff out (and they dropship - I bought a cambelt kit from them earlier this year and it came direct from INA)

EyesWeldedShut Posted May 12 Posted May 12 Just now, egg said: oh that's a shame, I got some hyundai service bits from then recently and all was good. They're as predicable as a box of frogs. I stuck that order in with seven or eight different items in it. Some arrived almost next day, others (like the cambelt kit) over a week. I don't order from them now if I need it urgently (i.e. within 2-3 days). Last thing I bought from them was a pressure switch on 26th April (3 day delivery with same day despatch if ordered before noon) - it rocked up the following Friday - 3rd May. Still quicker than AutoDoc though egg 1
r.welfare Posted May 17 Posted May 17 20% off deal time again so this time I’ve ordered 20 litres of VW Longlife 5W30 for £43.99 - let’s see if it actually gets delivered! egg 1
egg Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Thanks, bought 5L of the low saps 5w30 for the i10, last time I bought it in 2020 it was £12.39 now £14.15 which in an inflationary world isn't bad.

I've just gone for 20 litres of 5W30 for £43.19 Previous order was on 27th April and they delivered on 2nd May - that one's 2/3rds gone (I don't have a thirsty car just three DV6 engines plus one Boxer HDi that get an oil change each year)

Like you say, drop shipped, it's come from BM Catalysts who one of our factors would have supplied it from anyway for near double the price egg 1
RoverFolkUs Posted May 20 Author Posted May 20 Latest heads up incase it helps anyone 100 litres of BMW/Mercedes spec 5w-30 for £159.99 with the coupon (4x 25L bottles for £199.99, minus the 20% coupon) That's equivalent to £32 per 20L bottle as these are the larger 25L types! This is insanely cheap, £1.60 a litre, cheaper than diesel! 😂 Let's see if it actually turns up, I wondered if it's an error but we've ordered 200 litres at that price! I do realize that 100 litres is probably too much for most folks, but hopefully this might help anyone else who needs to buy it in bulk Kiltox and beko1987 2

wuvvum Posted May 22 Posted May 22 I've just ordered 5 litres of the 5w30 (£11.72). Hoping it arrives as quickly as egg's did...
r.welfare Posted May 22 Posted May 22 Mine arrived today, ordered Friday night. 20L gets delivered by DX instead of Evri, not sure it makes a difference but there was only a day’s lag between them expecting and then receiving the parcel.
SiC Posted May 22 Posted May 22 I've just ordered this, this morning. Let's see how long it takes to get here. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/305516598792

RoverFolkUs Posted May 24 Author Posted May 24 18 minutes ago, Kiltox said: What would you pay for a drum of that? Typically £399 (+VAT) for ~200 litres of generic C3 Storage constraints mean that the massive barrels are a pain so the smaller 20/25L bottles are more convenient as they can easily be shifted around or dotted around where needed Kiltox 1
Kiltox Posted May 24 Posted May 24 Yeah that hammers home how much of a bargain it is and as you say without the pain in the arse of a drum. RoverFolkUs 1
