cpjitservices Posted May 9, 2022 Author Posted May 9, 2022 Thanks for all of the interest and info on this post so far! More updates to follow. One things for sure is, I look after my motors. A couple of them have ended up in the fold and they are testament as to how well I do look after them and spend wayyyyy over the odds on them lol. Cav is spot on already, but a new clutch kit, cambelt and a service is definately going ahead just to keep on top of maintenance. And yes, its staying absolutely standard! I want to put in the original brand spark plugs if i can find them., Cant remember the name of them though. Loving the 1.8 engine! Its most certainly the best engine of the range. Split_Pin, AnnoyingPentium, Wibble and 1 other 4

When I had it (was mine previously) I did a sad and MOT checked all the surrounding numbers. There's no hint of a supplying dealer in the history, it was sold as a Network Q car in Manchester in 1996 and stayed in that city until I bought it in 2019, hence it was always "Frank the Manc" to me. SO M830 - 840YVT were all Cavaliers, registered June 1995, and this is predictably the only one that survives. I'm thinking a fleet order. BorniteIdentity and cpjitservices 2

My nans old expression N469POD was a fleet car for its first 6 months then Nan bought it from empire park Vauxhall in Stoke. I bought N468POD about 8 years ago and it’s history was similar. Sold at 6 months by the same dealer. richbraith 1

richbraith Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 Another interesting aside to this Cav, which I mentioned to Chris when he collected it. It had a dramatic role before I got it. It appeared in a programme called 'Crimes That Shook Britain' playing the Cav in which the Real IRA transported and planted the bomb that devastated Omagh in 1998, killing 29 unfortunate souls. Here's a rather eerie photo of that very car taken about 10 minutes before that awful event. As you can see the details aren't quite right, but in the scheme of things that's not too important. They also used a silver facelift mk1 Megane as the 'escort vehicle' that wouldn't have been launched until 1999. Plates blanked out on both in the film, I only knew it was that car as the previous owner told me they paid them £250 for a day's filming and brought it back full of fuel. cpjitservices and BorniteIdentity 2

LoftyvRS Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 I had an M reg Cavalier 1.7TD Envoy in Rioja for a few years from new in 1994, beautiful colour - IMO much more classy than the more common Satin Red metallic ones. Good find OP, hope the car does you well
