Ugliest vehicle EVAR?

Oi! I'll have you know that the Ami 6 is GORGEOUS! In a peculiar kind of way.

Sorry dollywobbler - thought I was posting under 'most distinctive cars EVAR' thread. Schoolboy error

I always thought this was the ugliest vehicle ever,

but that new mini thing really is awful - all fat and bloated. But then the X6 is pretty bad (and pointless)

I actually like Bug-Eye Scorpios (but only the black headlamp, facelift ones).

Ugliest car evahhhh? Got to be either the Fuglipla, Rodius, or Allegro VP, although this was the first eyesore to come to mind

i actually like that

Me too. Looks like the bastard offspring of a Marina and a Saab 99, both of which are cars I would be happy to trundle around in.

Marina and a flat nose 911 surely!

Alright, I take it back, it's growing on me as well now. They also did a version of the MGB GT (sorry, Sherpa coupe) with monster bumpers and a panoramic rear-facing periscope sticking out of the roof. Turned out they weren't joking about the bumpers, of course.

Try Marina and TR7.

Or a Marina, a TR7 and one of these:

(Nice seats, by the way, I fancy those for the Landy)

There was a feature on that in the last MG Owners Club magazine (that we will now be default be getting for the next six months...) Of course these days the polariscope would be great for seeing the lower part of the windscreen of the inevitable tailgating 4x4. Bumpers are far nicer than they actually ended up with.

Oh, that Marina might have Testarossa overtones too.

Since cars stopped being cars and more of a health and safety bone on, we're getting things that are taller than they are longer. Car manufacturers have lost the plot, but so have the buying public. It's only when someone points out how bad they look, do you realise they really are obscenely disgusting. I like that Subaru, they've dealt with what they had and tried to make it nice. It's the fault of the the safety features I suppose.I'll give this to these ugly fucking monstrosities - I'd rather crash in one. And that's all I have to say.

I think that Juke looks okay. It's interesting.

EDIT: Just noticed it includes one of my least-favourite features in modern cars - front indicators mounted within the lamps, that simply can't be seen when the lights are on. Rubbish.

That Bini Countryman looks terrible.

As does the green Pug.

(I shan't duplicate the original image, as I know that upsets you Milf  )

The ugliest production car ever must be this.

Chock full of gimmicks that other manufacturers gave up on years ago and it looks like one of those toy cars that used to appear in your toybox but you didn't know where they came from. It's very badly finished too, that black plastic surround will look shit in a few years ago. The centre brake light is full of random light and dark spots, the front and rear door handles don't match (if you're ashamed of having a 4 door car don't buy one ffs). Horrible.

A lot of people i speak to seem to like these though. Personally i dont, i think they are trying too hard to be trendy and in my opinion fail. I think they have designed an old giffers car and put some triangular exhausts and a few extra lights on it to try and flog it to 20 somethings with bad hair.Dont think its the worst looking car out there but i think its basically a bland car tarted up a wee bit.

Obviously the ugly status of a car is very subjective, but it's funny how people mellow over time and familiarity - like the controversy of the Sierra at launch!

But these two I distinctly remember seeing on launch at the motor shows and thinking how ugly they were:

With the Picasso, I thought the name was stupid but also apt, as it looked like and abstract 'not right' car. I couldn't work out the extreme curve at the rear (loss of boot space) and the huge front dash layout - it made no sense. I remember thinking that Citroen had got it so wrong (the teenage mind obviously superior to a car manufacturer) and that It'd sell none. They're still on sale now (though prob due to being cheap)!

And the Ka just seemed offensive. I was nearing the age where I could drive and just thought that would be a hideous first car (not that I could afford a new car), that I'd be embarrased to drive the thing, it was so overtly 'cute'. But it was also ugly, and the angle at the rear and lack of overhang at the back looked like a monster truck had nudged it and flattened it a bit. Or something. Now I can't really see the problem I had with it and would drive one at the right price....

What I dislike most about the Civic is the rear window. Surely the whole point of a rear window is that you can see out of it?! With chunky C pillars too, it's like driving around in a van. I don't mind the overall look at all though. It's quite smart in places. Just takes form over function too much.

Not driven one, but imagine the rear view is not brilliant. Quite like the look of these though. Would happily drive one of these.

Probably backwards into a lampost though.

I agree about rear view not brilliant, but I think these look cracking 'cos they're more quirky. My girlfriend prefers the 5 dr though...

but for some cars their uglyness is also there beauty, i.e. the 504,

EXCUSE ME? :x:evil::twisted::shock::?

I'll grant you it's wasn't a beauty but it hardly warrants a mention on this thread!

Here are some pics of the one I used to have. There's never been a better looking beige car in the world I tell you!

and they get uglier each time. Can't help thinking they based it on this.

Think I prefer the latter to be honest.

I had a 07 Type R model (although I wish I'd got a standard Sport model, overkill) and it was superb to drive, they've finally got the interiors sorted (previous ones where horrible). I was told it was built on the cheap compared to other Civics (esp the rear suspension, which is just torsion beam). That front and rear transparent strip is never going to last beyond five years though. Good cars, like.

Yay! That's just like mine.

The rear view is just fine - parking is a piece of piss (although I've got reversing sensors, too )

I'll grant you it's wasn't a beauty but it hardly warrants a mention on this thread!I always thought the 504 was viewed as a conventionally handsome `70s saloon car by the world at large, this is certainly the first time I`ve seen it involved in an ugly car discussion, so I wouldn`t go and draw a huge veil over yours just yet.

It's the British Leyland Safety Research Vehicle (SRV) 2 - details at AROnline http://www.aronline.co.uk/index.htm?researchsrvf.htm. It's in the BMIHT heritage museum at Gaydon, I think :)
