If it'd been in Scotland I'd have had that XJR. Sure it'll probably blow up but at that money it'd be worth a punt.

'twas I, now have an E46 instead but cheers anyhow.

Now, anyone got £700 to lend me please?

If anything could be described as 'two wheeled sh1te' I reckon it would be that. It looks fantastic.

It has no MOT or Tax as these have ran out and i have not bothered to renew either as i am now selling it.

I don't think this chap has the hang of the old car selling malarkey

For when an Austin 7 is just too civilised

I've been having some thoughts towards building a period looking cyclecar at some point. That would be a great start but a bit too much money for me. Shame as it was built not far from home and the reg is 55 years almost to the day before I was born.

Just lobbed a bid on that Astra van and first bidder had obviously put a higher one on. I'll watch that with interest because it's bloody lovely and I quite fancy it.

I can't steal the images, but do check them out because there is a mysterious knackered-looking bit of shite in the background (no, the 607 is the one in the foreground! :D )

'Selling for a friend'

'I've only had it a few days, no time to take for an MOT'

Oh, and I bet the sunroof's been taped up because it leaks which will be down to the sunroof channels being blocked so a fairly big job to sort out.

The Farina listed earlier is the same one I'm sure that was hawked around a banger racer's site and had had a few owners in a short space of time.

Why do I get the feeling that Farina would make a great daily driver if fitted with a Prima?

Also the number plate says MUFF! Wouldn't it be funny if we had a thread about numberplates that had sex-words in them.

£4000 though... is that reasonable for one of these? It does look pretty lush, low miles, "crushed velour". What's not to like?

Not much, just the price I think. There are so few enthusiasts of Chrysler 2-Litres that I think it would struggle to make that sort of money.

Half that and it would be a winner 8)

Yes- that particular swap has been on my mind for a long time. The farina ticks all the boxes for a cheap everyday snotter- free road tax, mechanically simple rwd, B series powered (anything that's had a B can accomadate a prima, based on the O that replaced the B). the only problem would be the diff ratio- too low for a diesel, maybe an a90 crownwheel and pinion? I even got as far as buying a leyland daf 200 for its prima engine and box, but its turned out to be too handy to break just for that. we'll see.

Transit Di engines are also cheap/available/simple enough to consider for a retro fit, also unburstable and economical. just possibly a wee bit heavy for the average '60s saloon

Transmission whines and the front driveshafts will need doing at some point.

Are you sure about that?

Is that, 'It's a Dolomite FF', or 'It's a Dolomite FFS'?

Anyhoo...

A lovely Roll'n'Garrosausage. It's a 1400; were bigger engines available, or has my memory gone after all?

If there's a quicker way to bring on rain than taking the dog lead/lawnmower out, it'll be getting the roof down. Test Sod's Law to its' fullest extent, with this lovely Cavalier ragtop.
