I think it's been said before but that 2-door Passat Mk1 is the DOG'S BOLLOCKS, FACT

I heard about that Compagno coming out of the woodwork. I might have a cheeky punt on that as I definitely need it in my life. My dad needs something to spend his pension lump sum on and I'm sure that will fit the bill...

That Compagno is amazing. As are some of the motors in this thread. Top stuff.

Very tempting to buy the Passat and put it back to stock. If the BX goes, I might do just that...

That's the sort of thing a post-apocalyptic Wood & Pickett might knock together! :P

YES you read it right, this is an allegro mini and its the only one of its kind ever made, it was reg as a allegro mini on the log book, the person who made it was called clifford weston and came from kings lynn in norfolk,

Hpi says

Vehicle Details

Vehicle Details1 for registration number PVF688WMake ALLEGRO MINI

Model Year of Manufacture 1980

That 'Allegro Mini' is fookin awesome!!! Clifford whatnot must have worked for the local DVLA office and updated their computer himself. He certainly seems to have been a mental enough character to do that going off the state of that thing. I wouldnt change anything on it in a tribute to a man who is clearly a total fruitcake.

There is something almost admirable about someone who said "this Mini just isn't shite enough." He even appears to have changed the wiper position! He didn't fit that dashboard/steering column in 1980 though, so it must have been his life's work. Oh, he came from King's Lynn? Explains it... :P

EDIT - I don't think he has moved the wipers - I think he's fitted a Clubby snout to a Minivan! They retained the old wiper position and external door hinges way after the saloons.

A Compagno??? Get it Mash, and I will send you this flyer (or I might even bring it in person):

Compagno looks like one that was in C&S back in the '90s. Go Mash!

I think that is the one that's now been completely restored and has been featured in various mags over the years, which makes this one a 'new' British Compagno!

Also,

I really like the Allegro Mini, does that make me a bad person?

Also,

Whenever I see a 128 3p I think about this, which is probably my favourite thing in the world.

It's not Mini van doors either, it's got wind-up windows. I think that means they are Australian doors.

They are definitely Aussie doors! External hinges, wind up windows and, the clearest of all clues, those wonderful door handles!

What a hero though for going to those lengths.
