My first bike after passing my test was a Le Mans II. Mine was red of course, they’re faster. Neither colour came with the bird.

And my first Moto Guzzi was a V50 II in the same lovely silvery blue as the one in the advert. I didn't get a bird with it either.

I like her cloggs.  Everyone in Sweden used to wear them (träskor, literally wooden shoes).  A sort of precursor to crocs :(

Very cheap, around £2:50 in the seventies.  I would like some but they are expensive now.  Made in Poland now too.

We used to get fish oil tankers driven in from Denmark; I can clearly remember the 'clip-clop' sound of the Danish drivers wooden safety driving clogs. Which looked remarkably like normal clogs.... Imagine driving 20t of fish oil through the twisting roads of Hull and then manoeuvring a tanker around a factory built in 1840, whilst wearing clogs.

There's got to be an interesting story here - Texan plates over what looks like Arabic plates. How did an Imp end up in Texas via somewhere in the Middle east?

They were very popular in St Helens in the 1970's for some reason...

More like nomadic anti-freeze salesman from my (bitter) experience of Imp ownership.

I don't know what the story of that particular car is, but Imps were sold in the USA as the Sunbeam Imp from 1964-67.  Like the original Mini, the Imp was withdrawn from the US because the car couldn't meet the new 1968 model-year emissions regulations.
