Ok I will kick off. Apologies if this has been done before.

Apparently slightly bastardised versions of the Maestro and Montego are being made in China as the Etsong Lubao and Etsong Lande.

Is that a Peugeot 207? No! It's a 206 saloon. Just called a 207 in China (same for the hatches).

A colleague has a 2008 Mondeo on lease. In total it’s been back to various dealers 17 times (excluding servicing) since new. He got it back yesterday after they’d repaired the no start problem. They’d had it for month. We’re taking bets on what time he’ll arrive tomorrow and what courtesy car he’ll be in.

I've been asking that about anything with a Vauxhall badge for the last 20 years. Hopefully they'll stop bothering soon. ;)

I´d like to see some old cars from the 90s available as new on our markets, not only in developing countries. But no, we always need the most modern sh*t we could get...

11/10 for missing the point of this thread.Another Iranian maker, Saipa, produces Citroen Xantias as well as Kia Prides in hatcback and saloon form.

Dammit. They've stopped making the Fukang Citroen ZX thing.

I'm sure when the manufacturing rights are sold there must be a clause preventing sales in certain countries. I'm sure the taxi/private hire drivers would jump at the chance of a new 405/6 for under 5 large if they had the chance.

I don't think Iranian 405s are built very well, not that the French and British built ones are either.

Had a ride in one of these doing duty as a taxi in Mexico. Called the Nissan Tsuru. Noisy rough bastard of a 1.6 liter engine.

That reminds me -- Renault Clio still on sale via Nissan Mexico:

I'd buy a splitty and put that thing on (with wood screws), just to be an absolute rotter.

It does have a look of Gary 'twat' Bushell to it:

I think you can buy a pretend spare wheel to cover it up.I don't know if they still do the Peugeot RD but I want one. It's a 405 body on a Hunter floorpan with an Avenger engine. What's not to like?

Blimey ,you're not wrong! Might be doing the VW a disservice with the comparison though.

What on earth happened to Bushell? He had a crap ITV game show after his equally awful Sun column, didn’t he? And let’s not forget that lousy Oi band of his, The Gonads…

Or of course there's the Hillman Hunter built in Iran as a Peykan, but only the pick up now

I was just going to mention the Iranian Hunter ... How about a nice new Nigerian 504?
