Cooling system is getting a good work out this morning!

And I wish I’d stopped in a lay-by for a piss…

Missing it, unfortunately - usually a cracking weekend with loads of mates but life intervened. Sold my ticket to a friend who will be there in his US-spec Cherokee on Mustang wheels that I also sold him.

Enjoy!

Great day. The usual mix of cars you love and cars you don't, and trying to guess what is powering stuff going up the hill. Honda k24-powered Fiat X1/9 was fun, but I think the Saab turbo powered Commer camper was my favourite. No pics of that sadly.

Was a great day out, lots of wonderful and fascinating cars, some to my taste some not. But it was so eclectic there was something for everyone. Didn’t get to watch as much hill climb action as I would have liked as I had to leave early. Obviously one of the highlights was finding another TransSport!!

Lots of MX5s, Toyota Supras, Nissan 200zxs, RX7s, a shed load of VWs and fast Fords…

That blue 121 was painted in a garage with graffiti paint. Testament to how good graff paint is - dunno why anyone would roller paint on or use tractor paint or anything else tbh.

Unbelievable!

Nice comparison between the pre- and post-facelift dustbusters. GM desperately tried to make them look more "conventional" so they just slapped the Bonneville's headlights on the front and painted the roof. Typical half-assed GM approach, hating it. It also shows how little GM cared for integrating EU-spec lighting on the back of their vehicles in the 90s, some of the outcomes were horrific and ruined much of the design. Could be worse on the Trans Sport at least.

I passed the Blue Cherry amongst many others coming back from the FoD,  I'm fairly sure it used to live in Ludlow and was used as a rally car.

I saw a gold coloured 68ish mustang, and a 90s camaro; I was thinking there are a lot of local old car people (quite possible) but maybe there were a few meets on.

Also ended up doing a video of the two TransSports with Geoff buys cars…

Was a good bit of fun!

Definitely get rid of the foglights. And yeah, the 3800 is one of the best engines you could have at the time, world wide. Indestructable, good torque, economical for its power output, extemely easy to find parts for.

Brilliant pics, thanks for posting,

I didn't go this year and I really missed the camping fun and Kevs tat auction silliness.

Yup, an entire group of friends that it ached to miss. Some were at the Weekender, but not all.

Oh and I was there but have to say thanks for sharing the photos cos I see hardly any of the show - just the 130 cars in the paddock that are running up the hill (538 runs this year a new RRG record)
