It’s having a full body refurb. 400 odd ccs of raw custard skin pulling power.

Sadly it is already painted in the wrong colour, it is the first year they offered a choice and it’s going back into its original colour. If it was just beaten up I’d agree but not only is it beaten up it’s also in the wrong colour.

This is the inside that is in the right colour that was done for the previous owner.

That's almost part of the charm, you can see the colour it's supposed to be on that OSR wheelarch.   Your car though, I can see why you'd want it the right colour all over!

Agreed, I love it when any old object/ artefact (like an old die cast) shows excessive wear exposing a different colour. Plus the delicate little dents on the wings from decades of use.

Shabby chic authentique.

Yes absolutely I thought a can of thinners and wipe it off but the paint has been keyed in and applied quite heavily in places so it’s a no go. Plus I actually fancy something that looks good for a change.

In Japanese aesthetics, that quality is known  wabi-sabi

Delightful - really rather envious.

Just perfect. Lovely old bodywork as it is, and I think I would just make sure it was structurally sound and leave it alone, but restoring it will also be nice - just for different reasons.

I'm well jell, innit?

It's your car, i 100% understand why you'd want it original, but i'd honestly leave that as is as well, it's stunning!

I love that rough and ready, worn in look, it's telling a story just looking like that.

I think if I was to ever own a 2CV, it'd have to be one of these - rather like I'd prefer a Renault 3 to a 4.
