Are there any plans for a summer Autoshite national meet?

All in all I think something around Manc/Scouse/Lancs/plastic Scouse area would probably be the fairest area

OK, so what sort of venue then? Some sort of transport themed venue or just somewhere big enough to park cars that serves food / pies / Old Speckled Hen?

Are there any closed service stations or the like over there, and bring your own beer?If we wanted to cause havoc, we could turn up at Harewood House...

There is a big industrial estate by cammell lairds that i'm sure we could use.Or the old Power station grounds in brombrough / port sunlight:)Obviously these are local and if anyone thinks my ideas are poop then my bad !

How about one of those 1950's style OK Diners? There is one by Wrexham with a decent car park.

i kind of dont care how far it is aslong as i can get there No doubt i still wont be driving by then so its either go crazy with the BMX and turn up like a bit swetty bar-steward, Public transport, convince dad to take me, or hitch hike ! :)

Or get a lift from a fellow Autoshiter.

In wakefield we have the Redbeck motel, which I like to think of as a shite ace cafe of the north? Great food, big carpark, licensed, open 24hrs and Im sure we could find a campsite round here for the evening. Hell if we could make it coincide with the Thornes Park Show thats usually chocked full of shite on display, or the Leeds classic meet, to add a little run about to proceedings.

Theres also the Yorkshire Motor museum although I've never been so can't comment on the place, looks decent enough from the website though....

I vote for Anywhere in north Stoke-on Trent. Tunstall ideally.

I have to say I'd vote +1 for the bubble car museum. It's fairly central (about the same distance from Plymouth and Edinburgh according to my map), it's not far off the A1 so easy to get to from north and south, it's shite-friendly and you can camp on site.

Objection! Too near Port Vale territory.

I'm going there with the MTOC at the end of June 8)

It may well be too short notice to use the Bubblecar Museum. They may be fully booked up. Can equire though if that's where folks want to meet.

Don't really know were i should post this idea but ....

I think we should enter Autoshite as a group at the tatton park car show

Not only could we display our "shite", but we could have a pretty good meet up point and drool over the tat at tatton.

Good Idea ?

Bad Idea ?

Should We

Enter

**edit**

I guess it might be hard to enter for us as i am sure not everyone ownes a pristene car, but we should be able to slip a letter in explaining that we The autoshite community, like to show the public a real working old car and not just a car that gets driven on weekends.

Banner's in the boot of the Audi, saw it recently.

If for some reason we can't enter as a group, but someone has there car on show, would it be okay to lend the legendary banner ?

Thats all :)

Anywhere that takes a tent is good.Or the AA/RAC training college.

tatton park car show

Having dealt with the organisers before, I would be surprised if we would even get a stand tbh such is the level of demand. And if we did do you really want to spend a weekend with the typical classic car show visitor wondering why we have anything that is not concours / a Triumph Stag / MGB in red / a traditional classic.A stand full of ageing 70's, 80's and early 90's tin might be interesting to our happy lot but would probably end up with us getting lynched.Better to have a presence at one of the shows more suitable to AS type vehicles - Retro Show at Santa Pod etc if thats what you want to do.

Agreed. And that's not a bad shout either - Shite Drag racing! (my 2CV's already been down the strip. Never again... really boring!!)

I thought half the fun would of been getting drunk and trying to enter a rusty Tagora into the Autoglym Concourse!

Thoresby Classic Car & Motorcyle Show - twice a year and accept anything pre '94, also Newark Autojumble - plenty of tat there especially in the car parks.

I think we should go to the snobbiest show we can find. And turn up on mass in a big, noisy, cloud of smoke. And we should all enter the concours competition.

Well said R.S!I think we should convert one of Freds lutons into a mobile lap dancing stage and maybe a "Miss wet Autoshite T shirt" compertition. We should invite the mobile tattoo studio that attends the Bulldog Bash and give out subsidised Talbot tattoo's.
