Selling my late mother’s house, we’re nearly there, final (ish) clear out today and thought we’d better label the various keys. I say various, I meant some of the 47 keys knocking around the house. (Nothing thrown away in 40 years).

Totting up, there are three doors to the house, 3 sheds, and a garage. 7 keys plus things like window locks. So 40 redundant keys but two windows turn out to be locked and none of the keys fit.

Spent all day trying to find a locksmith with no joy. Should I be sneaky and hope the new owners don’t notice until spring or they all die in a fire because the window was locked?

Yes. Been there, quite recently, keys for most, but not all windows. Not your problem now. It’s a hard enough time, so walk away, you’ve done your best.

Yup, i really need to be selling my Cinquecento 16v, but part of the reason i have left it locked up for years now is i just cannot be fucked dealing with people offering less than scrap money and the usual 'Oooooh you're too far away, tell u wot m8, i will give you £150 for it because it'll cost me £300 to get it delivered, or if you want, you can pay for delivery and i can give you 250!'.
