Identify a mystery car lens!

Recently discovered in my parents garden whilst digging. It's been there since 1979 at least...

I'm thinking mk1 Escort front indicator,  although there's no evidence it was ever orange. 

Ideas?

Don't think so. It's about 18cm long. I'm pretty convinced it's for a car which is earlier than 1979...

Edit: When you look at it, there's a bit of metallic blue overspray on a corner, which adds to my theory.

Pretty sure I've owned at least one car with lenses like that.  I'm thinking Marina (had 4) but something doesn't seem quite right.

I just googled VEGAlight lens and this came up on eBay a VeGA 61 Marina OSR light lens,  that reversing light section looks about right- @eddyramrod shite senses were accurate, it seems.

I don’t think Escorts ever came with clear indicator lenses. White indicators went out in the mid 60s about halfway through the 105E Anglia production run and later cars fitted with them would fail the MOT. Escort era was well after all that.

I think it's a Marina front side/indicator lens.  There was a separate orange bit that fitted behind for the indicator.  Vega was an alternative source to Lucas.

Think you might be right. Also fitted to TR7s it seems.

That's what I was missing, the orange inner!  Definitely Marina then.

Boom! Thanks for that! My dad owned a Marina TC in the early 80s - if he'd released there was a spares hoard in the garden he'd have started digging years ago! ?

My dad had a new Marina in 1976 which had Vega lights.  I think they were fitted when Lucas were on strike.  I need to get out more....
