This is going to be the longest, and possible the last, journey I make in my 924 😢

But I may come home in something different...

That’s possibly the most savage breakfast I’ve seen, since the late, great DaveNumbers toothpaste on toast.

Looks like absolute heaven to me...

Ok I'm en route to the rendezvous.

Still snowy, and now I've demisted a bit it's looking lovely!

Just done a cheeky snow power slide in a layby, as a mark of respect to the old car.

Sorry to see the 924 go but hopefully will be remaining on AS.
Good luck with the buy/sale/swap/pooing!

Interest levels are high here. It's a shame it has to go, great cars.

Onwards and upwards though.

Great looking cars. My dad had many issues with his estate 740 many years ago but I really want one now.

Also i used to not like the saloons but they have really grown on me.

Deeply envious.

Please keep us updated

Volvos have some of the best seats around. A superb trade for the Porsche.

Oh yes they are! I'm looking for excuses to go out for a drive now. But I think I have to let the snow on our drive melt...

Ace cars, definitely a worthy swap from the Porsche, better suited to winter weather. Is it 2.0 or 2.3?

Luther drove a 740 GL saloon, so you can also assure yourself you’re as cool as Idris Elba

Thanks.

It's the truly spectacular* 2.0 GL.

Actually it's really rather good 🙂

I’ve always wondered what a 2.0 740 is actually like? All I can think is that it would be brutally under powered but so many people rate them that I think I must be wrong???

I've just swapped for a car the same power but half the weight.

It doesn't accelerate as fast, nor does it corner as flat and planted but it really doesn't seem to matter. It's torquey, so you can jump out at junctions without sweat.

I've never driven a 2.3 but I can't imagine that without a stop watch you'd notice much.

It's just so endearing. The hype is true: you have to drive it to know but it's so comfy and smooth. Like a limousine but with the the power to weight of a loaded transit.
