You all know the score.

I have not even finalised the sale of scooter and got the money in my hands and then

Fate kicks you in the face.

So i have been thinking take it slow, no rush, find a good condition well cared for panda.

And then what turns up 6kms away in the hills near me.

2002 panda 1.1 hobby, 180000 kms (110k miles).

Euro 200. !

Add says the car does work, not much else.

Is not a city car, some old mountain bloke has almost killed it.

We are all suckers for a sad case.

Going to view it tomorrow morning.

Hopefully no rust.

Parts and engines should be cheap in italy right ?

Why am i so excited about this.

He did say bring jump leads, always a good sign !

I think this model has electric windows.

Colour = WINNING.

Have you bought it yet?

I had a 1000S in 1988-90. A cracking little car and with its fifth gear, surprisingly good on motorways. MUCH nicer than the Mk1 45 a friend ran as it had novelties like suspension and seat padding!  Being square it was very capacious - rather like a tiny Volvo 240!

Well that was a resounding no.

The reality of €200 panda:

€350 admin change owner admin fee.

Every rubber boot shot, inner gearbox cv boots leaking bad.

A fine example of why 2 year mots are bad, all 4 tyres beyond knackered ( and i have used some knackered tyres in my time).

Engine in last throws of life.

Rust , surprisingly little but due to the following ;

It had been used hard off road, underside front foot wells bashed in and rusting bad.

I must be patient,  for €1000 i should find a fine example.

Currently in negotiations with a columbian in a less desirable part of torino for a 2002 1.1 panda. This could end badly as i believe columbians are not renowned for accepting low offers for their goods.  Asking 750, i think nore like 350.

If it’s corrosion free, it’d be worth £1500+ all day long in the uk even with a few Italian bodywork modifications. It must be one of the very last with all mod cons.
