Storm Dennis surviving Saab 900 convertible!!

Right oh...

Nothing new with my perusing of eBay for old chod. We all do it. However, with the money from the sale of my 9000 to RobT literally burning a hole pocket I realised that I could stick a cheeky bid or two on anything cheap enough. I’d been watching this particular car for a few days, it seemed cheap, has MoT till October, and no major faults listed...

So with 39 seconds to go I lobbed a bid in... fully expecting to be outbid... but I wasn’t.   Interesting.

Ok, so contact with the seller was established and today was deemed appropriate to go and pick up said steed.

I won’t be leaving Wales, but I will be crossing a famous bridge!

A car which I’ve bought sight unseen but for not much cash which I’m collecting whilst there are weather warnings... what could possibly go wrong.

If it's amphibious or very heavy, you'll be fine.  Bon chance!

Brave. Good luck. Liked and subscribed. Now where's my slippers and pipe...?

Watch out for hobbits, and I just saw that there's a red weather warning for sarf Wales ?

Dennis has decided to throw some sleet at us just as departure time approached. C5 loaded with the people, my wallet and erm... well that’s about it...

Welsh landmark #1

A house on a bridge.

Be handy if it was a black Saab 9000 with a red driver’s door ?

Safe travels. Dunno what it’s like up there but the back roads are a bit of a mess down here.

A rather downtrodden land rover discovery with terminal chassis rot and LED floodlights because you have one life and your going to live it?

The only previous time I’ve bought a car sight unseen it was green... this is also green... that one was a 1979 vintage, this one hails from the mid 90s...

 Have another tunnel!

I think I might know what this is if it's the one I was watching in North Wales that ended yesterday. Tear in the driver's bolster perhaps?

If it is you got a billy bargain at that price.

It’s Mr Bargain to you ?

I’ve just opened the panoramic roof on the C5....

My new steed doesn’t have a panoramic sunroof,.. but with the push of a button I can experience the great outdoors...

Have a bridge

Well done, that looked really good. Only reason I never bid on it was I thought it would end up going for about twice what it reached.

So did I!! I figured that if I got it for less than £350 (my max bid) I’d be doing well. Seeing as I got it for £302.96 I’d say I did ok!!

Chod speed, Sir, I expect to see pics of it being driven home in full décapotable* mode.

*May or may not be of Froggy descent, use of the garlic expression could be an elaborate ruse...

Really looking forward to hearing about this one, my finger was hovering for a while but I really didn't fancy the long schlep home to Glasgow in what was promising to be the worst couple of days weather we've had this year.

If the weather keeps up like this I may well be topless!!

Can confirm that it is not of French origin... nor was it produced in the country of its manufacturers origin I discovered earlier...
