Think the consul/Granada has had a headlight fire rather than an engine fire judging by the damage being in both front corners rather than more central on the bonnet.

Very little has changed since these were taken. In fact, up until around 10/12 years ago, both store and petrol station still displayed "J" Sainsbury. I pass this store regularly, on fact I passed it earlier on this evening.

Wondered how long it would be before there would be someone we actually knew! Hot Imp in blue and yellow is now in her late 60’s and is called Heather Mutton and lived at number 3 on our cul de sac. I remember being dragged around this store as a young child. She would have been walking back to an orange/red Renault 5.

The West Bromwich store closed long before 2004, it closed not long after the Oldbury store opened and became a Kwik Save.  It was definitely a kwik save in the early nineties when my Grandad used to take my mum shopping in his Montego as I can remember getting weighed down with shopping during school holidays.

This one lasted until summer 1986 (same year as this photo) presumably not helped by the conditions here.

P reg Cortina with round headlamps would make it a 1300 or 1600 base model. Also: I do like cherries. Both the small car from Datsun and the fruit.

Brazen Gate, central Norwich 1989. Built on the site of Victoria Station which was closed down by Dr. Beeching in the 1960s.

Coincidentally I vaguely recall seeing that beige Cortina around the city, possibly in the 1990s.

2CV6 Charleston in the background and a colour coded phase 2 Renault 11 (Broadway?).

The Ambassador makes a fantastic car for shopping, huge boot capacity and then the driver could push themselves further into their overdraft by filling the 16 gallon fuel tank.

Here's another on supermarket duty.
