Luxobarge, finally have one.

Well I have waited 7 years for the ability to even insure one of these. For 7 years I was given quotes of near £2500 a year because of the V8 and bigness.

Not any more!

This example isn't the best but what I paid is reflected in condition overall and the fact that the Nova and V55 needed to be done.

Every single thing on this car works (except for the removed AC condenser and the inop boot button on the boot lid).

107k which is still not properly run in really and a chunk of services stamped in the book.

shot through its first MOT with advisor on track rod end n/s (and that is bloody slight).

Nova declaration is in waiting for response and then just needing the DVLA to do their thing.

Amusingly this car is none sunroof and on coil suspension so even less to go wrong. It is as they say base model but still very nice to drive.

Crikey, what a purchase!

There's nowt like it when it comes to wafting in near silence, particularly on the right road surface.

Suffice to say I'm eyeing up the LS460 and wondering how long it'll be before it's down into the luxoshite budget area.

From experience a late 430 is better than a 460 build quality wise.

Not sure regards road tax wise, but I believe the 430 was the last one to have under £400 road tax.

The 460 is a really nice car though and an eventual goal of mine

Welcome to the Lexus LS club! Its not my favorite gen looks wise but they are incredibly capable cars no doubt, and rock solid which the LS460 apparently isnt necessarily anymore. How much did you pay for it?

Hundreds of £'s not thousands

And that's after registering it and all the items it needed

Under a grand for a 430 is an excellent deal, cant find a better car for that money.

Looks a cracking car!

I like the look of the LS460-I'll wait till they hit a couple of grand though.

Been a while since last update.

The whole vehicle registration process has been an absolute nightmare. 7 whole weeks since I got this car and started the registration process I have finally been assigned a vehicle registration mark.

The delay was caused by Hmrc not putting the chassis number in properly and missing a '1' out. Instead of the dvla actually doing any physical work they sent back the application with a very vague letter about not having a Nova active.

Headache finally over, I now have to wait for them to send the V5c and relevant papers before I can re insure and drive again.

Insurance had issues with time scale so policy was cancelled and the car has sadly sat doing sfa for 5 weeks.

Local mice have had a field day and made a nest under the inlet chewing a vacuum line before I could evict the furry buggers.

I will not be getting involved with importing another car unless it is something very special that's for sure.
