Reliable*

Is it a Hyundai Pony X2 with a squealing drive belt and 2 perished tyres?

Don't worry, this is the Rover being naughty.

Second impromtu stop, M11 Junction of M25.

Temp gauge creeping up, pulled over, released air, topped up water. Wait for it to cool, then off again.

28 miles down, 63 to go.

Is it a LDV beaver tail with a 1.8 k series upgrade so you can use it to transport the Rover back home?

Stop 3. Birchanger services.

No issues, just seemed like a good place for a break.

My guess is a poverty spec maroon Mazda Xedos 6 :-)

Good luck with the collection!

There’s no such thing as a povvo spec xedos 6, they’re all luxuriant V6 aren’t they?

Wasn't there a shite 1.8 option that didn't even come with alloys? I could be wrong!

I hope you've refilled your water containers, just in case ;)

Wasn't it a 1.6? Though that might have been a paddy spec Irish one...
We always loved hub caps and keep fit windows

Must have found the happy medium between tank cap loose and pissing out water as we made it the last 60+ miles in one hit.

Will add pics later, but here is a teaser...

A Mitsu Colt? Looks like a Japanese Speedo... Not Jeager clocks here.

No maybe Malaysian or Korean? Perodua Kelisa? Proton of some sort? It's not a quick car with a Speedo topping off at 100

I reckon that is 274k km not miles so I would say an import of some kind....I could be wrong....with a speedo only reaching up to 100mph would say it's a small engined car and then to have done 274k MILES in something small engined like that I would take pity on the driver....so yeh still reckon it's an import of some sort.

Appealing to doc because probably not many about.

Also top left looks like the left direction arrow from a Mitsubishi....

If it was an import the outer dial would be in km/h too, unless changed of course. Either way it's done moon mileage and should* be reliable.

Anyway, it's definitely a Perodua Kelisa speedo.

It's not a direction arrow but a first aid cross perhaps?

I have NEVER seen a Perodua kelisa with 274k on before unless that top odometer reads tenths of a mile too so is in actual fact only 27k but that would be boring.... 27,445 and 8 tenths of a mile....

But many Peroduas have Daihatsu engines fitted (Daihatsu being of the Toyota family) so in theory could be quite reliable after all.....

Rev happy little things....same as a Daihatsu Cuore innit?

Dont ditch the hubcaps!

What is the mileage then?

Hubcaps are getting binned ASAP.

Mileage is 74k, but something went wrong with the clocks

Yea I think so, so should be fuss free motoring for a while.

Hubcaps are part of the ultra low spec charm

Must be a common issue...

Anyway, well bought. Hopefully will provide reliable, cheap motoring.

Ideal fodder for a Hubnut review too.
