Really enjoyed this and loads of pointers for my MK1 GTi cab on an f reg that needs resurrection 😬😬.

And I'm also in Swansea, in fact roughly the same area as @Skizzer.

Mine was Helios blue as well but it's now midnight rising blue which I love, but am tempted to put it back to the original Helios. Need to get it to actually work first.

It's been stood at least 10 years if not more now. 

I'd sell it for the right price even though I'd love to sort out out, would be great in Spain 😀

This failed on Friday...

A very good catch by the MOT tester - and it appears a common issue with Mk 1s.

So much so that ready made panels are available.

 

To explain why it's fiddly, see the picture below.

 The rack mounts onto the bulkhead - so the engine/steering rack and exhaust are all in the way.

Handily in this pic the engine is removed so it's easy to see. 

Will be looking to get it repaired/replaced so it can get the MOT asap
