collection chaos - it's gone off the rails already - but got me back on track :)

that's right - that ticket is for YESTERDAYS FUCKING TRAIN !

which I discovered just as I was about to board my second train of the day

Posted

a mad dash to the ticket machine was made and a new ticket purchased, legging it back to the almost departing train I discovered I'd bought the wrong ticket AGAIN and had to wait for the later departure. not ideal as I'm already on a tight schedule today.

my collection target is already well known on these pages but has been standing untouched for several days and has a dicky battery - just another exciting* variable in my already fun day :)

Posted

right then, I'm on the big train and my ticket has been approved, time to relax and maybe go for a 'jim bell'

Good luck with collections - fairly jealous

This is interesting because EXACTLY the same thing happened to me when booking train tickets to get my car on Tuesday. Ok I got a partial refund but then it had clicked onto the next day I paid a lot more for the original tickets. Very irritating as I'm pretty good with these type of things normally.

Train dudes are usually sound. You should have changed your luck. Hope things get smoother as the day goes in man.

with what I have planned for later on, maybe I should just go back to bed as Lady Luck is clearly giving me the cold shoulder today

a quick sprint across the platforms at Waverley and I'm on train number three - caught an earlier connection than planned so making up time now :)

Toilet out of order ! I pulled up at a large hotel chain to meet a colleague. I was busting for a whazz. As I walked into reception, the receptionist announced we are closed . Closed WTF. The came the additional info, no water. I asked is I could use the loo. Was refused. I said, I only need a whazz. More refusal (FFS, the cistern might have seen a flush). So I went outside a pissed up the wall in the corner of their car park.

It took a while to work out (viewing on phone) that it was a crash helmet in a bag. It looked like an airbag that had deployed and I was surprised that they had them on a train

Good luck! Hope the replacement tickets weren't too expensive. I was thinking you got a good deal there!

Lol at the ticket and I was wondering about the lid - I'll be doing something similar tomorrow only with a plane

About booking ticket I got to airport they said ring us and we'll come and get you for the hire car - rang and no sir there's no booking

Rang the bookers and they booked it for Feb 16

I'd booked it two months ago lol

well the little Mazda has been mercilessly thrashed round the track (approx 80 laps) with only one excursion into the gravel / grass (me being a bit cocky early on in the session) and has now made it safely across the border and is parked up outside the new place.

all in, a long and chaotic day, but bloody good fun and great to catch up with the lads again.

as a backup plan, dome had kindly offered the a2 if the mazda let me down. thankfully, I didn't need it. sadly, someone else did
