Yes, it only applies to vehicles up to 3.5 tons, so buses can continue with sideways facing seats and no seat belts.

I did find the new seatbelt regulations / directives for rear seat passengers:

- 74/408/EEC for seats

- 76/115/EEC for seatbelt anchorages and

- 77/541/EEC for seatbelts

They are effective since 01-01 and make traveling in side facing seats illegal.

I'm sure this must only apply to new vehicles.

Yeah that had me looking too, it seems to wrong for the model as it's missing the chrome strip and doesn't even have a gap for one, I'm guessing it's a Escort one.

So do I. Found something on motorhomes saying side-facing seats cannot be used during travel IF the vehicle is 2006 or newer. Nothing about side facing seats in cars, but I suspect it's the same.

That orion has a metal bumper from an early mk3 escort for some reason, it should have a placca one

Headlights are wonky too. Probably had an unfortunate meeting with a stationary object.  Shame, looks spotless otherwise.

Mind you, winter's coming, a RWD low-slung snowplough is just the job for those snow-covered roads.  It even has a nice big handle for pushing when it breaks down.

Well, well well.  Thought I recognised this!  I doubt anyone remembers but I posted a question about a year ago asking whether a Mk1 Golf GTi I'd spotted rotting on a driveway was worth a punt - the general consensus was no, a good decision confirmed when I found out they wanted £1000 for it.  My VW-obsessed friend went and knocked on the door, had a chat to the owner and looked around it and he reckoned close up that it was utterly rotten and beyond hope.

Well, here it is.

Looks better for a wash and perhaps better than it has a right to be after all that time sat outside but still, no thanks.

Loving that golf:

"IT WASN'T TAKEN OFF THE ROAD FOR NO OTHER REASON THAN NO LONGER BEING USED. I HAD IT A COUPLE OF YEARS AND DID HAVE ANY TIME AND DIDN'T DO ANY THING WITH IT AND THEN MY SON SAID HE WANTED TO DO IT"

As someone who's sold "Classic Black and Decker Drills" even I'm impressed with a classic mobility scooter!
