So basically some shit found kicking about your Grandads garage, in a box

LOL, what!? Good luck with that buddy.

You've found a belter there, Alex.

I've just taken a closer look at this bullshit. Take that 'genuine' invoice for the work. The date appears to be 1940-odd - for a Morris 1000.

Also I didn't know that they had type-writers in those days which would do Times New Roman, and be so advanced that they looked like an inkjet printer from 50 years later. What's this malarkey about '2 L. 107 Champion plugs'? As far as I know no such thing even exists and certainly wasn't the plug for an A-Series.

'grind tappet screws'

'1' x L" steel pipe extention for rear pipe' (a first class job done, I'm sure, especially when you're measuring in made-up units)

?

Not that any of the above would in the slightest part bother the twit who is stupid enough to buy this crap. Though I must hand it to him, the concept of cobbling some old shite together in a display board and trying to flog it for 1000 times its value is an interesting one.

I've emailed the seller to confirm the date for the Morris 1000 Minor van repair: he says 30th June 1949. Quite some achievement that as the van versions weren't actually made until 1953

You never know, it might've been a very early prototype.

..that needed an engine rebuild before it had been made and at an independent garage not in house at Morris who would have just put a new engine in anyhow?

Posted

probably the pre-war morris minor as the insurance note is 1930's. The muppet knows bugger all about minors thats for sure

Apparently the 'engin' needed de-carbonising and it needed a steel pipe 'extention'...? Interestingly, the bell-tip's description is littered with spelling mistakes too.

I can confirm that Chapel Allerton in Leeds (or 'Chapeaal Aaaa' to it residents) is so far up its own arse that by inverting itself so much it did indeed create an alternate reality where inkjet printers existed in the 1940's. It was the same reality where Dubstep was the new Charleston and Danny Dyer was the lead actor in Its a Wonderful Life. N-Dubz then married a 13yr old girl and died on a toilet in 1977 after eating too many burgers laced with prescription drugs.

How an artifact from that reality came to end up here is something you would have to ask the Doctor, as played by Steven Seagull.

These thunderfuds look shit but but I bet it's a bit of a laugh for for the money given it's got a manual gearbox conversion

Changing the serpentine belt on those looks like a barrel of laughs too
