Surely that's not a GS1000S tank, and the least said about that seat the better.

Thank you; we have seen this one before, and it's way overpriced.  Gorgeous though, and I'd love to know what those rear lights are from, because one thing they absolutely aren't is original.

Late 40s early 50s yank at a guess. ( They're vaguely familiar) Scott at coldwarmotors in Canada will probably know.

Surely that's not a GS1000S tank,

GSX tank.

A popular mod 30 years ago to fit the larger GSX tank to your GS for continental touring.

Ask me how I know.

(Seat is gopping!)

I love it.

Me too. It’s like brutalist architecture but with (I’m guessing) 6 and 3/4 litres of v8

That looks class. Hopefully someone can save it by fixing the gearbox.

Pezz manual version sold yesterday @ AAC auction,
Other stuff had a few silly prices but mostly seemed sensible - place looked half empty by 4pm

There were a handful in early MK3 shells I believe

Yes and the shell is the right age with the oval hole on the rear of the back seat metalwork.

The lack of boot board brackets suggests the shell is a base model 850 or 1000 though.

The engine in the car is a small bore one so not a cooper S and the seperate engine is weird with the block mounted oil filter which I ve only seen on Morris Marina in line engines and the last Rover mini multi point injection engines but its not one of those as they didnt have a distributor hole.

If had to guess I would say its a mini 850 or 1000 and at somepoint someone has fitted some cooper S bits like the twin tanks and has the description on the logbook changed to Cooper S which was then put down on the V5 when they were computerised.

Back then no one cared that much and I ve seen a few minis listed as cooper or cooper s on the logbook but with an 850 or 1000 chassis number where this has happened.

I bet it’s quite economical?!
I’ve had a few xuds and I’ve had a moggy… I loved them all but I’m not sure if I’d like to combine the two.
