This thing again.

Morris Marina Convertible

I'd think a Crayford is like a high end quality product compared to this creation of someone with a saw and a tent.

1946 MORRIS TEN 10 BARN FIND GENUINE 30,000 MILES 1-OWNER REG VALUED AT £3,500 - Picture 3 of 22

1946 MORRIS TEN 10 BARN FIND GENUINE 30,000 MILES 1-OWNER REG VALUED AT £3,500 | eBay

Says the reg is valued at £3,500 but surely the DVLA would insist on an MOT as it looks like it's been off the road for light years?

Selling a car for it's £3,500 reg plate, but don't tell anyone what the reg plate is? Nutter logic. I do hope the 4 numers are 8008 so it reads BG 8008.

Isn't there a loophole if you put a reg on retention for so long you can swap it onto another car?

Posted its journey through the last several owners in this very thread. A very rare car in the UK, and unfortunately thoroughly fcked.

Yes, you need an MoT and an inspection to take a number off a historic vehicle for the first time. The only way you could get the number off that without a full restoration would be to use the chassis and running gear to build a “special”. Unless you already have another Morris 8 and don’t have any conscience about where chassis plates land… Lots of work. I have been offered a Land-Rover that belonged to a friend who died a couple of years ago, and that has a very nice number on it, but his widow wants £6500 “for the plate”, and I know that there’s a whole world of work to try and get an MoT on a Land-Rover that’s not seen a testing station (or turned a wheel) in years.

What was ever the point of a less reliable and more expensive Passat anyway?

'Could be a simple fix'

But the bits of trim removed around the steering wheel and fuse box (?) say probably not.

Mainly to show Mercedes that they too could build a car with the qualities of an S-Class after Mercedes started to take market share from VW with the A-Class. The styling does undersell an otherwise pretty special car for those who don't have a closer look.
