Do you reckon all that 'was sold to Mr Cock Burglar of Kent in 1989' bollocks actually works, i.e gets a better price? I'm not convinced that 'it was then bought by some wanker in Chester who filled it full of veg oil and cba cleaning it' is going to help when I sell my XZ in a years time.

Bollox the owner says it also has no tax,  I would drive it back home without an mot but don't think I would risk no tax as well, anyone know any good garages down that way that are trustworthy?

TBH you're more likely to have issues if you get tugged with no MoT - it's an automatic £100 fine.  If you're stopped for no tax on the day you bought the car, the DVLA usually won't bother to pursue it as they wouldn't get any back duty out of it.  The only potential sticking point is if it breaks down - you might then have trouble persuading the breakdown services to drag it home.

Yeh but a £100 fine is still cheeper than shiply to Scotland :-D train is only £59 as well

I am also not in any breakdown service so would be a gamble as I like to live on the edge :shock:

^ that's my mates car. Serviced courtesy of HM taxpayer. Has some rust spots behind rear plate and a few in other places, but nothing that can't be fixed. He lost his arm in a biking accident and it had some mobility conversion.
