The problem with that at that price is that if you ever drive it, it will be worth £700 within a year or so.

Plus Budget for a new gearbox at 95K

That's my neighbour's old one. It was for sale on their drive for £900 a couple of months ago. If there is anyone here unwise enough to consider buying it at that price, I can tell you that the gearbox has already shat itself and been replaced, that would be about three years ago. They spent quite a lot keeping it going over the years...

Instead I've asked what's been done to the car to justify the £1.5k price increase. This should be fun.....

It was sold as an auction last time round, so you (or anyone else) could have bid on it. He/she even said they haven't done anything to it, so what are you expecting them to reply to that?  If your neighbour bought a scratch card for a quid and won £500, would you expect him to sell it to you for £11?

Good bloody luck to the fella/lass.

I have no issue with someone making a buck. But the asking price is considerably more than the auction end price, an auction that had plenty of bids and much interest - considering what these normally exchange hands for it wasn't exactly a steal, more about market price (by my reckoning anyway).

To do sod all to it and then claim an additional £1.5k just seems a bit bloody cheeky to me. But I suppose its down to whether it sells or not - if it goes for that then clearly it is worth that to someone!

£650 looks great VFM with such a long MOT.  Sadly, my insurance say FRO with mini buses or that'd be out the back tomorrow morning.

*Edit: obvs it'd need the hairdryer treatment on the lettering to make it look a bit less noncey.

This is a tempter for me, very rare late MK1 mondeo lens (96 only) where they got rid of the inner plastic lens and actually printed the pattern on the glass. In other words - they don't go yellow...
