Drove the Micra home earlier, it drives quite well but it's had a horrible deep dish steering wheel fitted so I'll be on the lookout for a standard wheel. Also needs a thermostat. Other than that I'm happy enough with it, not sure how long I'll hold onto it...

Hell, yeah

*By the way, is it just me or are there quite a few of these Transit Connect vans that have gone a bit 'Britains First-ish'

Mine hasn't.  But it has a proper petrol engine so is definitely the exception.

That lived near me on a dealers forecourt here in Dublin until sometime last year. I think it was €10k then

I wasn't aware that Escort 1300 Sports in RHD form were a thing, sporty features but economical to run. Saying that, don't bother looking at the price, it's overpriced as always.

I had one back in 1990, PEL 714R.

White with RS alloys, lowered and it had a full Janspeed manifold and exhaust, plus the obligatory K&N of course. It also had what I was told, an 1100 gearbox (could be bo-lax).

It was quick of the mark, but you were in fourth by 60 and getting to 90 was a miracle.

It looked and sounded ace, but was rotten under the surface. I sold it to a mate who had it resprayed, but didn’t see to the rot. So it didn’t last that much longer.

My favourite ever car I have owned.

There was one near a roundabout in Mexborough with all the windows plated over being used a shed outside some shitty timber yard, it looked right at home
