I used to work on an ice cream van in the late nineties and out and about for four - five hours a night we'd be lucky to get £30 profit. On a miserable wet night you'd get a tenner if you were lucky. There's decent coin to be made in ice cream but most folk just wanted fags, and you'd make 10p a pack on those if you were lucky. The days of the ice cream van are dead sadly.

 

I have horrible memories of little shits coming out and demanding 100 flumps at 1p each and you'd have to sit and count the bloody things out to make - a quid.. Minus what they cost you in the cash and carry. It's a shit gig.

Oh bugger, flashback!  I bought the abominable 307SW from the seller of that Volvo back along, not really his fault it was such a dog and he did do a lot of work on it under the 'warranty' but that name's still tainted!  He did have a pleasingly shitey 220,000 mile Focus loan car though.

I've looked at his pictures and according to my eyesight he has a set of Vauxhall fan blade alloys in his garage. I wonder if h'ed planned to fit them to the Astra but discovered it was knackered?

For someone who 'carnt see it needing much for an MOT' he has a suspiciously large collection of car parts and tools kicking about.

Do you know, if that had been a bit closer, I think I'd have bought that.

 

I really don't know what it is I want at the moment, I have (hopefully) most of the fleet going out soon, and I'm itching for something a world away from what I've had already, I must admit I had a twinge for that Humber that turned up on here recently, or perhaps the scabby old P5 that was on ebay or completely the other side of that, a Series Landie of some sort.

 

Unfortunately it all has to wait until I've moved the Ax along, scrapped the spares van and got the C5 deal in the bag...

 

I watch this thread with interest, I'd ideally like a running project as I very rarely seem to get to enjoy the driving of my shite...
