I have a feeling this could end up being a world of pain .... I still would though.

I spy a red mirror, and is that overspray on the rear wheel?

"Has 2 litre Turbo installed registered as a 1.6 on V5"

What possesses anyone to think that this is a selling point? Who is he trying to fool? If it's the insurance company then I can tell you, they are not that stupid. You don't declare it, you are not insured. Simple.

15mins to go and no bids at 600 notes.

At the risk of OMG NOT MOR BXS ON AUTOSHITE, that one was bidding strongly at one point, then the chap posted up a picture of the nasty rot around the windscreen and bids were getting cancelled in frantic fashion! Could be rotten as a pear underneath for all we know, but he didn't include photos of that...

Declaring the engine conversion on the Delta would possibly lower it's insurance premium. I bet the donor was a Thema, which is a large family car, instead of a hot hatch.

I know someone who put a 2.0 Passat engine in a formerly 1.8 Golf GTi, and they ended up with lower premiums ... Insurance companies can be odd.

Insurance Assessors are smart and probably know more about motors than most of us. They certainly know all the dodges and will go to any lengths not to pay out, including checking engine codes not just what they look like (I doubt if a 2 litre turbo is identical to a standard 1.6).

They seller is not saying it's a 2 litre turbo for cheaper insurance reasons. Basically it is an uninsured car if the change has not been declared and that should tell you all you need to know about the seller.

It's over 20 years old, so I bet you can declare a 3 page long modification list and it would only increase the premium by £1.28.

Would the insurance assesor know 24 year old lancia engine codes,or check the stroke of the crank?,because they are externally the same monzaE.

I was skimming through some completed auctions to see what bargains had genuinely been had and found these...

Looks only its mother could love, I'm assuming it was an import as I don't remember these being for sale new. A worthy opponent in the style stakes to the Ssangyong thing from a couple of pages back.

Problem with those Primeras (P10, P11 & P11B) is that the fuel economy on the 1.8 and 2.0 petrol versions is atrocious. I have a 1.8 Sport + on loan to a family member and it rarely sees more than 34mpg on a good run, it has NO acceleration at all and it's a generally shite engine. The handling, braking and comfort levels however are on a different level to anything else with a "SPORT" badge on that I've ever driven.

There was an R reg 2.0 SLX for sale near me a few months ago with 16,000 miles on it and it sold for £850. They're good cars but no-one seems interested in them. Maybe it's because most of them are petrol and skin flints at the cheapo end of the market are looking for diesels.

I'd have thought 30-35mpg was pretty par for the course on a 2 litre pez motor to be honest. My saab 93 2 lt does about that as did several Mondeos etc I've had in the past.

Agree they're good cars but utterly unwanted. I had an absolute minter a couple of years back - 60 odd k and fsh. Was living in Aberdeen and working in Glasgow a couple of days a week at the time and I burst it up and down the motorway relentlessly with no problems whatsover.

Eventually it needed a set of pads and discs but that was all. Couldn't give it away even with 6 months mot and it ended up weighed in when the tax ran out and I was skint and had nowhere to keep it. Have to be honest - it's probably the best condition motor I've ever owned! Felt incredibly guilty when the scrappy's hiab arrived.

I didn't like the cheap looking dash and naff 90s patterned seats but as transport - I couldn't fault it.

That Disco looks like some sort of 'special needs' edition.

That Disco pic is brilliant, its got all the ingredients including utterly hopeless half-arsed ‘project’ vehicle cobbled together by an obviously cack-handed moron of limited spatial awareness, badly photographed on a shitty bit of rubbish-strewn wasteground next to his estate, taken on a miserable, piss wet, cold day. Poetry.

That's Luke from Club Lancia Sport's old HF Turbo which he did a lot of work on. I think he must've finished building his integrale, so it may be that much of the possible pain has already been borne!

It used to have a full set of Martini stripes and an integrale wing, removed for a respray perhaps?

Well, that's made me chuckle. Thanks very much :D

What an ugly fucker that is...

It looks so 'front wheel drive' with that huge overhang at the front, like an Audi.

The Martini graphics on this are a bit tasteless, but it's still a white 924 2 litre with the funkiest interior. The Citroen BX I've owned for 2 weeks is now up for sale

That doesn't show the paint on the bonnet, which is as rough as a town centre tart's make up. Interior is peachy though
