I love these; here's one that was immaculate two years ago, used to see it north side and city centre Dublin regularly; now crashed. It's apparently a Brazilian import; I'd love to know the story that brought it here when it was nearly new (Wicklow reg, would have had to have been issued in the 80s)

Strut top mounts look remarkably intact, shame about the rest like!

I thought that, my pretty smart 1971 1100 was turning to cornflakes there in 1979. This was back when nearly all Escorts were 1100 or possibly a 1300 XL, TC/RS etc weren't the reality for most folk.

Slightly unsure about posting these as it's Autoshite, and these are very capable old crates.  Anyway - be like me in your 1990s Purple Toyota.

Smoller and more economcal than I.

How fit does this look in tuscan plum with the boot?  Answer - very. Very fit.

Shame someone's vomited on the fascia.

Still - 100% would if the price isn't firm.  Probably the last car you'd ever need to buy.

Furthermore, here's another chance to be like me in your shitty red ford with non colour coded bumpers.

I find it VERY LOL that they started using the Mexico name on these again.  Jesus wept.

Going back to that 1200 quid Senator. Would the high spec engine plus cloth interior suggest it being ex-plod?

Unlikely, as it seems to be CD spec cloth , plus the metallic paint, automatic box and aircon, none of which were usually found on Police cars at that time, although some very late ( M reg ) Police cars did exist with full civilian spec, including sunroof etc. This was when only the Police wanted them.

Somewhere there is(or was) an Imperial Green manual 24v on an L , It has a manual factory fitted sunroof( after my brother stitched a secondhand roof skin into it) and full leather. But no aircon, cruise, OBC or switchable dampers, must have confused the shit out people. Went like fook with no cats and a twin straight through system too.

Thats a bit of a sad old thing innit. But somehow those Mk1 800's seem such a cool motor now, what a great way to get about.
