That photo-less coach from a couple of pages back now has pictures. To be fair to him/her, it was well worth the effort...

It's fantastic what they've done there, which presumably taking a photo in the reversing mirror of a 1950's MG, via a kaleidoscope, on a trampoline (with an elephant)  after 57 pints of vodka.

Still, £500, no reserve, only one bid and less than 5 hours to go. I absolutely 100% would have this if I had the money and time.

That surpasses Junkman's bad photography award standard by some margin; those could be eligible for a Turner prize and be shown in Tate Modern(shite).

In the 70s, when I was little, there was a local lady that owned one of those in Garden village, Wrexham. Hers was a dark blood red with burgundy interior. I think she had a little yappy dog too, which meant you couldn't get too close!

These escorts used to be the sort of everyday tat gracing every back lane with a screwdriver broken off in the lock.

The early ones look kind of tempting now.

I'd like to thank the seller of the white one for telling me what it isn't. I would never have worked out otherwise that it's a base model with a tea tray nailed to the boot lid and a barry steering wheel.

Shame really, cleaned up and tidied up it would be a nice 1.3 2 door Escort. It will, of course, never be an XR3i, RS Turbo, replica or otherwise. Likewise, it will never be a field of turnips.

montage!

This has a shit ton of work done to it all for a selling price of 495. He should be on here

The engine was running very rough

And it had a fuel leak.

The fuel lines were sorted out

And the engine was removed and went off

To a motor engineer to be rebuilt

And sorted out slow time which was done

Over a year.

The Head was removed

And a replacement set of Cam followers

Was sourced and fitted.

The head was replaced,

Thermostat housing also replaced coz

The old one leaked.

Some welding was done on sills and

Some internal panels towards the rear.

While the engine was out

The whole of the chassis rails

At the front of the car were rebuilt

By a superb craftsman who made up

The parts required with new steel

And over a weekend set to it

And completely rebuilt the front end of the car.

I have included photos of this work in picture 11.

Following a good number of other jobs and

More welding on the sills and inner floor

And inner sills the car was put back together.

.

Fuck me, I've just read that Carlton advert.  I need a lie down.

He's also got a 440 for sale, mercifully with a slightly shorter description.

@rustysills re that Saab. The garage is near me - their stock keeps appearing in my chod alerts. Whenever I take a closer look it's usually a lot tattier than described, no history, short MOT.

But I am fussy.
