Who else but BL would style the dash so the radio pointed towards the driver in the Ital.

Phail.

Why is it not a good thing to orient the radio toward the driver?

And four posts up: what is that white square thing with the bonnet pins and double headlights to the left of the Metro?

'my childhood dream car'

I had some pretty terrible dreams when I was a kid, but even the one about waking up with ginger hair to find my fox hunting step parents had tattooed an Iveco emblem onto my forehead pales into insignificance compared to this.

*Edit: £2,000. Two. Thousand. Pounds. Two effing grand for a lump of fibreglass that loosely resembles the front bumper of a Mk2 Transit spec lift recovery truck that had been crashed at high speed into a rusty Beetle

Phail.

the radio pointing away from the driver appeared on the mark 2 marina, the ital just carried that dashboard over without any changes.

i had wondered if it was a cheap trick from BL to save a few quid and just tool up one dash board for both left and right hand drive.

it wasn't.

as the left hand drive marina 2 had the radio pointing the other way!!

I came on here to post this, beaten to it though. Interiors like that are fucking awful on 15 year old Pugs and Vx's, jaw droppingly naff on a nearly 40 year old MG

Fair enough, but it's thankfully quite easy to replace it with something decent.

I don't even want to know by which mechanism it came to Blighty, but I bet it would be interesting to ask for a proof of ownership.

Update:

I asked for proof of ownership. This is the reply:

No does say in the ad no documents r paper work spairs or repairs

No, I did NOT make this up!

Can any Englishman out there please explain to me why there actually are bids on it?

Should anything I wrote come across as being even remotely a racist nationality criterion, then it was certainly not the wisest choice of phrasing.

What I'm trying to ask, is whether anybody more familiar with the legal situation in UK than I am, knows of a way to register this thing for use on her Majesty's own highways.

I know there's a way of dodging NOVA by pointing blame at the PO, past that I'm not sure.

Check out the questions. A Zephyr that hasn't moved for 40 years, and someone asks if the engine turns over and does it need welding.

What do you think....

I'd be more worried about that mad knifeman bloke he's pinned to the wall.

That Zephyr

On 08-Oct-16 at 15:32:27 BST, seller added the following information:

Item is no longer available

Yet he's kept the auction running, now with 7 hours to go. What a plum.

Ringing?

Use for parts?

Put bogus foreign plates on it and hope no-one notices?

As an Englishman I feel that as a nation we are very ready to accept dodgy goods - I have seen so many things for sale that are either dubious or very obviously stolen - and plenty of people willing to queue up to buy stuff if it's cheap and not ask any questions.  I am also profoundly depressed when I see how the fact you can't leave anything lying around for 5 minutes without some git stealing it makes our country appear so different - I've been to France, Ireland and the USA in the last couple of years and seen stuff lying around that would be gone if was here - and the owner would be told they were stupid for leaving it there.

There are a heck of a lot of dishonest people here.

Is that wallpapered Suzuki with the bint draped over the bonnet going to win the "most times posted in the ebay-tat thread" award?

Perhaps we need a macro that will bounce posts linking to tat already posted.
