'The Van has been apart of the family'

Don't blame you, chief. If this was mine it'd be so far apart from my family it'd be on a different continent.

'as she sits the car is £1200 but with no engine and box its £900.'

Probably more value, appeal and structural rigidity in those Tupperware boxes.

Message sent to eBay seller: Hi there, can you let me have the details of the car show so I can avoid it and never have to watch them turning a decent looking car into a complete abortion.

Cheers

Re: big Yank estate thing with shit graphics on the front.

Sadly it really is a seriously rare 1976 (not 1977, as stated in the ad) Cadillac Fleetwood Castilian by Traditional Coachworks.

On Roadwars tonight: Pat and Carl watch the valve that owns this to start driving off so they nick him for having an offensive car in a built up area

I don't mind posting on here and having a chuckle at other peoples expense when unbeknown to them. But targeting a seller with nasty, rude and smug messages is a bit low for me. It's not necessary and even less funny.

Have to agree there, I think it's been done a couple of times before and it's painful to read. It's not really different to any of us receiving stupid messages from Gumtree users when selling stuff, pretty sure we wouldn't be amused to get a message like that.

Some refreshing honesty here

am selling it as I brought it to make some money

Ha, I've a feeling that the established traders of Woolwich London won't be losing any sleep quite yet

There's a cheap-ish Proton not far from here, in fact I think the seller used to be an on here.

I like to think I'd send some sort of witty but cheerful riposte - but I guess I'd probably be a bit peeved in truth.

A part of me would love to see a "comments" section on eBay ads though just for fun.

It's clear that the dealer wants to avoid his legal obligations under the Retail Goods acts, by offering the same warranty as a privateer.  But that would be like Samsung saying. Hey these phones are nice, but if you want one you need to get it tested by your own experts.  I'm Just not sure you can actually sign away your legal rights as a consumer just like that.

No.

Samsung don't sell ratty secondhand phones from years ago.

There's one of these threads on Pistonheads about every ten minutes - and the SOGA includes a test of reasonableness - for £199 if you drove it home once without it expiring that'd probably be a fair deal - you can't expect miracles and even the SOGA (actually replaced by more recent legislation) doesn't give you extra fluffy unicorn powers.
