I thought the mark 3 granny could only be bought as an 1800 in taxi spec, complete with a meter?

plus, the delorean above, in red paint., I wonder what horrors that paint is hiding, since it should be stainless steel an all?

Not ebay but this popped up on a local facebook group and may be of interest to a shiter.

Looks bang tidy.

There was a Company car tax / engine size thing at that time that produced 1.8 litre oddballs like this. I asked for a 1.8 Granada or Carlton instead of the Cavalier / Sierra I was "entitled to" but was told no 'cause of fuel consumption........

Bounced mpg back on them to wangle a BX Diesel estate, first Diesel car the firm ever bought.

And doesn't that DeLorean look ace in a proper colour!

About a mile from me, actually in Herne village. Probably a decent area. Note he is also selling two cylinder heads for v6 rover 75 so might be in the trade?!

When the Mk3 Granny first came out the lowest spec was GL and the 1.8 was only available in that spec. When the L joined the range it was then available in that too, along with 2.0 sohc carb. The GL had the widest range of available engines, I think, 1.8 2.0carb, 2.0i , 2.4 V6 and 2.8/9 V6. Ghia's we're only available in 2.0i and 2.8i at first then 2.0i 2.4 and 2.9 V6, Scorpios only 2.8/9. I think Diesel was L and Taxi only.

This all changed in 1990 with the advent of the Twin Cam and Saloon.

This car is a Ghia lookalike with its aftermarket pop up sunroof and Ghia wheel trims. Call the OSF rivet Police.

This only applies to UK Granada's, not Johnny Junkman Foreigners perverted Scopio 1.8s etc.

I had a mk3 Grannie-pig and loved it. It was  2.0 litre dohc injected device and it was cracking motor. I think it was a GL but not sure, all I can really remember about it is that a goat took umbridge to its own reflection and went all down the side of the bastard head butting it! Apparently, it had never seen a shiny car before!

didn't wheeler dealers (or similar) buy and the de-paint a delorean?

or did i dream it?

that one was red too, and from america (spooky....)

as i recall they stripped the paint off only to fine that one back quarter was fillered after a bump.

they were able to get a panel from the delorean car parts place in florida? who hold just about every part needed to build a new one.

with the ne panel in, they got some fella to come and brush the whole car  so that the panel matched.
