my plan was to fit this car with a V8

Life, however, has intervened and changing circumstances mean I must part with a few (most) of my projects and fleet.

What a shame and a waste of a rare Carlton.

This looks like a mobile advert for a drain jetting company, only the shit is on the outside...

^ See Lord Sterling / News thread for more detail on how a 90s Mercedes feels just before this happens.

when i broke a ball joint on the rover 820 it felt fine before it broke, it was creaking like mad, but felt fine.

plus i had been bumraped well charged for the privilege by robson's in malton 6 weeks earlier for the self-same ball joint to be replaced.

it didn't make that much of a mess of the wind though.

... you mean 'as found on Ro80'....??

Very odd... my sis passed her 'Auto-only' test in theirs (FoMoCo V4.. sozz) & I 'popped the cherry' with a lady friend across the front seats of it...

TS

mmmm, but the Ro80* had a torque converter as well so the clutch only had to be in or out.

It is the automation of a clutch for starting that is so darn difficult.

*and VWs, 911s, Citroens and probably others

But that UmTumTiddeley is a lovely old thing, really would quite like that.  With a proper automatic 'box though.

Isn't the insurance ridiculous?

I hadn't thought of that, would the Twingo be expensive to insure as it's LHD? We haven't got that far anyway as she's too attached to the Clio we got for her to learn to drive in 6 years ago.
