I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THESE. In fact, fap fap fap fap...

Indeed :D

The more I look at the ad the more tempting it gets!

And it does "look" pretty straight.....

If that Venturi is the PRV V6 Turbo (as in r25 & GTA) then mechanical parts are only moderately difficult to find. God knows about any other parts for them.

Stolen from Pistonheads:

For the development of the preproduction car MVS talked to ex-racing drivers such as Mauro Bianchi and Jean-Pierre Beltoise. Their advice resulted in a new suspension lay-out with double wishbones at the front. Other weak points concerned the brakes and not unimportant, the crude Peugeot engine.

Along the way in developing a more up-market sports car, the unrefined Peugeot four cylinder was dropped in favour of the more refined 2.5 litre V6 from the Renault R25 Turbo. This V6 was itself the remainder of an obsolete V8 project that was killed off by the 1973 fuel crisis; hence its rather unusual - for a V6 that is - 90° layout.

While still developing 200 bhp at 5,750 rpm, maximum torque of 214 lb-ft was now available at only 2,500 rpm. The R25 gearbox was mounted at the very back of the engine, unlike the Alpine with which the MVS shared the engine.

erm, what? They all failed the MOT and were scrapped years ago. I think GTA's are more common nowadays.

V6 24v from some Pug's & Citroen XM's have been fitted to Renault GTAs in place of the PRV V6, as have 2.0 turbos from r21's ... so similar should be possible in the Venturi

That venturi is super ace. These are a £25k car in France easily. They must have made all of about 8 rhd ones as well. Awesome!

Yep. Rare as les dents d'un poulet. I'd expect it to fetch substantially more than £10k even in its current state.

oooh, the sterring wheel is on the left side :D

The last rhd Venturi I saw for sale I think went for £12k last summer and that was running with MOT .... This ones all ready been noticed over on RAOC (Renault Alpine club) so I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being snaffled by one of the guys off there.

Super clean boggo Jetta with a golf 16v engine fitted, half an hour from the dover ferry, 600€

That's hotter than whoever she is that does the numbers on countdown since Vorderman died.

From a translation of the description it IS TAKEN ON TRAY ABSOLUTELY so I reckon that's frog code for it wont drive to the docks.

One day the planets will align and something like this will crop up when I've got some cash and I'll end up stuck at the side of the road in France with an AX GT on 3 wheels and an injured Nun about 100 yards away and it will be all Autoshites fault.

It needs an exhaust downpipe, radiator hoses and the injection wiring sorted to make it a runner apparently. MUST BE TAKEN AWAY ON TRAILER! he says as well.

What is that doing in the UK??, I love the added on indicator repeaters on the front wings!

AHHHHHHH my EYES!

That seppo scrote is HIDEOUS, without having any redeeming aesthetic features! Send it back to them & tell them to try MUCH HARDER to build cars that aren't DEFINITION-STRETCHINGLY UGLY

MECHANICALLY IT'S FITTED WITH THE DISERABLE 1900CC PETROL ENGINE.

Is that a contraction of "distinctly miserable"?

Posted

What kind of sicko went to the trouble of hauling that Escort across the Atlantic?

Posted

Is that Escort a shorter wheelbase than euro ones? The back window looks smaller. Maybe its the stretched nose that makes it look out of proportion.

Posted

That Escort even has that horrible seat belt system that strangles you when you turn the ignition on.

Years ago there was a USA spec Mitsubishi Colt on the farm yard where i worked in for some rust repairs with those shit seat belt, a few days after it came in the farmer knocked one of those mega large bails of hay onto the roof off it and flattened it. Best thing that ever happended to that car.

Posted

Hmm. Well the Ford is interesting and definately shite. But I can't say I'd want to own it.

However, it's not all bad with the seppo scrote:

I think we have a strong contender for the narrowest ebay photograph shoe of 2012 here...!
