Speaking of cheap Saabs I thought this looked a bargain at Ã‚Â£595. It's a bit graunchy going into reverse. Google says it's a common problem and can be fixed by re-aligning the linkage..... or changing the gearbox. Who needs to go backwards?

Other then the quick respray in an unoriginal colour and these awful looking wheels those lower rear quarters looks a completely different shape to how they are supposed to look to me, and the rear panel isn't right and it's mising it's underriders.

That Cortina is one of the most obviously wobbed-up shite heaps I have ever seen,whoever is bidding Ã‚Â£1500 needs to stay away from old cars altogether. As you say the lower rear quarters are absolutely shocking, the panels gaps are all over the shop, the underneath is covered in overspray, its just fucking awful.

in that Cortina's defense, the blue is an original Cortina colour (Olympic Blue) but I don't think it was available in 1975, the dodgy door gaps are very common on a Cortina, most have the problem and it's a sod to sort.....but it is a heap

I had an 'R' reg (76/77?) Capri 1.3 in Olympic blue*, it's a really nice colour. That Cortina still looks toss though.

*Shit fact of the day: The old (lighter) blue that P&O Roadtanks used to use on their trucks was a perfect match for Olympic blue.

That blue Cortina isn't 100% as it should be,but then again there are many modified cars out there which are equally as ' not to original speciforcation ',but still give the owners pleasure from owning them.Isn't it better someone gave it a second chance of living,rather than smash it up on a banger track ? The cars presentation is poor I will admit;they didn't mask it properly to stop the underside getting misted is a shame,and lazyness.They could however have made sure it was solid underneath,and then waxoil or stonechip guarded it underneath to protect it,and make it look a lot nicer.Saving maybe a extra 5 minutes masking up has now created a much bigger task
