Looks like the Grim Reaper is standing over that Maestro.

More like that guy from The Matrix

I should buy this, it's got my initials on the numberplate. (my real name is 418 Mallory)

DEL POSS (EXTRA)

That sounds like the name of a Dutch supermarket.

I was only joking there, my name isn't 418 Mallory. It's

G reg  midget

I had an E34 540i for 10 years and would like another or an M5, this is one of a rare band in between basket case and unattainable for me. For the moment, at least. Very Gothic, - just how I like 'em!

NO MOT

Hmmm, I would be a little scared by that. How are these for parts? Are most parts interchangeable with the lesser cars or are simple items made of unobtanium and then tripled in price as they are for a 'premium' car.

The Mot explains the relatively low price I guess. The 540 used M5 rear brakes, mix of M3 and 7 series fronts all freely available very recently. Think engine and drivetrain may be only dedicated bits but no idea about availability. I would expect most mot-able bits common to lesser ones.

Just checked , a Sachs M5 clutch kit in stock at Europarts and 1/3 of the price of my Porsche 924 one.....

Going by the listing the lad has obviously spent serious money on that M5, so why not just MoT the bloody thing too? I never understand that.

Merc 560 S class seems to look very clean outside for 27 years old but seller fail to mention something terrible has happened to the carpet, modern wheels clash a bit too.

I would happily pop round to his house and take those wheels off just to know they were gone.

I tell you what, that Neoplan must be one of the earliest UK ones around now that hasn't rotted into oblivion.

V10 Merc engine too - yum!

Thee used to be a later Skyliner converted into a motorhome parked by the Seaton tramway at Colyton station. Reg was B16 or B19 BUS, I can't remember.

The VW LT engine in these is pretty awful - a thunderously noisy, laggy, inefficient diesel. Why do I want another one?!?!?!

This one needs a set of glow plugs apparently, they're a pig to change - the D24 engine manual recommends removing the injection pump! You don't need to but it's very awkward and fiddly.

  • Engine fault - rattles on start-up when cold and sometimes does not rev up and can cut out out but will restart

At best it could be fuel starvation and just in need of a new fuel filter and the gauze bursting in the fuel tank, at worst the separate pump timing belt has jumped a tooth. I'd love to rock up with a new fuel filter and drive it away.

I'm not sure whether I've ever read something more stupid, garnished with worse pictures, than this ad.

Which is a shame, since the car is arguably the best bargein road burner this side of a BMW 3.0 Si.

Despite not being keen on meeting the seller, I shall whack in a sneaky bid.

I gave the Opel owner the benefit of the doubt with the crap description as I assumed English wasn't his mother tongue. Doesn't excuses the title spamming though.

See all bids cancelled with 2h to go, now on £3000. I assume he wants to cancel the auction and has left it too late.
